“Stretch out your hand with healing power; may miraculous signs and wonders be done through the name of your holy servant Jesus.” After this prayer, the meeting place shook, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit. Then they preached the word of God with boldness.”
Acts of the Apostles 4:30-31
Good morning, PrayingOne,
As many mornings as I get up, I have to get right back down on my knees with my Savior … right there is my favorite place. Here is where I find that when prayer begins, I climb in with my God who takes care of business. He loves me and all my messes and questions completely. He sets a safe place where I can trust Him, and know He is still working even though I can’t see it. He sets up my boundaries – He fights and says “Satan, you’re a liar”.
This prayer place loosens my mind and allows His insight to set in. Give Him your time, and you gain the holiness of His POWER.
It will hold your life together; He is reliable-solid-stable.
It will hold your career together when every task and co-worker changes.
It will hold your marriage together until your spouse is ready to love you again.
It will hold your family together should you have to go into a crack-house and drag your child out.
Or, should you have to bury a child.
Or, should you have to love your brother through the razor-wire. Either side.
The prayer place takes you in to face your Soul — the real substance of your life. Why you’re here… what God says you’re capable of. The big picture. When you get through the confession part of prayer doors open. You commit to healing when you get low, on your knees. Then, lower still. And you know, a lot of sheep don’t really want to heal because there’s a payoff to staying unstable (we don’t have to change, we get attention, we get to be “right”…)
Prayer is a privilege.
A life-changing privilege.
Prayer is reserved for the people.
Reserved for relationship with the Most High.
It is a privilege reserved for you and me.
In the time of trouble,
in the time of fear,
in the time of questions,
in the time of tears,
you can come BOLDLY to the Throne of Grace and give honor to the Savior,
and lift each other,
and gain fresh life.
It comes from prayer. Thank You, Father.
Wake up.
Bend your knees.
Go.
