July 31, 2013 unsuspecting

‘Then the woman left her water jar, went into town, and told the men, “Come, see a man who told me everything I ever did! Could this be the Messiah? ” (John 4:28, 29 HCSB)

Jesus confronts us at the most unsuspecting times; have you noticed? My man is recovering from major surgery. He is a pill-a-phobe and hates, hates, hates taking pills. These pain pills have done a number on him, so he has quit taking them except for the bare minimum.
Now, I’m trying to be a decent nurse, and have found that I am the world’s worst at it. He hurts and I’m thinkin’ – ‘dude, enough, get over it’. (Ooo, did I really just admit that to you?!) (confronting truth gets ugly sometimes, huh? Like cold water thrown in your face).
And, you know what Father God does with that kind of selfish attitude? He keeps putting me down on my knees, every day, in front of my healing man, to redress his wound. And, each time I am bending, God uses that low place to trigger floods of how lucky and blessed I am and how precious every life is to Him. Every life. Every one. Your’s too.
Sometimes, we don’t like our lives sliced open and laid bare where we are forced to confront our ugly places.
It happens every day Dearheart …. all around us … the Almighty reminds us that life is not defined by our weaknesses and failures, but by the quality of a spirit that is willing to be refreshed by His abiding presence.
Make it a watchful day Beautiful One.

‘But You, Lord, are a shield around me, my glory, and the One who lifts up my head.’ (Psalms 3:3 HCSB)

Good day Spirit Warrior-
It often seems that conflict is the rule of life. Conflict causes some to cower. We hide. We turn back. We panic.
Practice believing in your Shield. Call on Him. When invited, God Most High will frame your thoughts DearOne. He will lasso your perspective so you can
No matter what man, or friend, or boss, or family, may do to you or say to you – your worth matters to the only One that counts. You are the beloved of God Almighty. Keep moving forward with eyes peering through the Shield.
Wake up.
Wear your shield.
Go to bed.

My book update – here’s the latest.

Hey yall, here’s the latest on my book: it has been approved by the Crossbooks-Lifeway Publishing theological review. My final manuscript has been submitted. The release date is not final, but it is sounding like October. Cover design is in progress.
This evening, I had an initial interview with their marketing/publicist team. It went something like this:
Me: “ . . . but I’m really not an author, I just love to write to people about God’s ways. . . that is where I hit my stride, one of the very few places I don’t feel awkward.”
Her reply, “Angela, until you acknowledge this, that you are a WRITER, you are depriving the world of a gift it longs for. People are desperate to hear. Your gift will stand the test of time. It could leave a legacy.” (She was good. A hard hitter. Really good at her job.)
I’m taking it all in. Buzzing tension.
It’s all about You, Lord. It’s all about You.

July 29, 2013 pretty prayers

‘The One who examines the thoughts and emotions is a righteous God. My shield is with God, who saves the upright in heart.’ (Psalms 7:9, 10 HCSB)

Hello Child of God Most High-
Praying this morning. More specifically, I am praying for you this morning.
You know Sweetheart, most people think praying has to be a polished art form – pretty words said in a clever fashion. Really, prayer is just laying “it” all out there for Father God to hash through. He wants honesty, not beautiful poetic words. You are so right, He does know already DearOne, but He wants us to simply lay it all out there at the very elementary level –
I’m hurting,
my friend needs a miracle,
how do I breathe through this,
my feelings are hurt,
my enemies want to destroy me,
thank you for the beauty,
my teacher/coach/boss eats worms for breakfast – then spits them at me during the day,
why did you let this happen to him,
my life is in danger,
I might explode,
how can I reach him,
Ive messed this up,
I’m sorry,
my pillow is soaked with years,
I want to love You more … and on and on.
Raw. Earthly. Prayers of honesty from the core of our thoughts: that’s getting to the heart of relationship with Father God.
Wake up.
Lay it all out there.
Go to bed.

July 27, 2013 its a plan

‘. . . a noble person plans noble things;’
(Isaiah 32:8 HCSB)

Good morning Sweetheart!
Do you have dreams? God sent them our way for a purpose – He gave us the ability to dream so we can make it happen!
Let’s say you want to earn your black belt in karate. You don’t show up to train with a hot fudge sundae in one hand, a nap-pillow in the other, wearing cleats and a figure-skating tutu. No.
You plan ahead.
You carve out the time.
You prepare.
You do the work, and make the black-belt goal happen.
Life will get tough. There are rough days ahead – you will think you will die from the stress and the pain (I apologize for being the bearer of bad news!) We don’t get to live in the Falls Creek shelter 24/365.
But, writing out your God-time goal … carving in space with Him every day will help you get still with His ultimate authority in your life – – habit with Father God will keep you standing when it seems like you are taking a TKO every day. The more you practice, the more you hear Him.
What are you waiting for? Write out your ‘God and Me Daily’ time plan.
Plan noble things.
Just do it.

July 26, 2013 determined

‘Then David said to his son Solomon, “Be strong and courageous, and do the work. Don’t be afraid or discouraged, for the Lord God, my God, is with you. He won’t leave you or forsake you until all the work for the service of the Lord ’s house is finished.’
(1 Chronicles 28:20 HCSB)

Good day DeterminedSoul!
Draw the line. If Father God has called you to this breaking point, then He has a breathtaking victory on the wings. You are so close to the turnaround for which you have been begging, tied up in a knot, waiting. What are you waiting for? Trust Him. Draw the line. Act. Boldly. Go.
Do the work.

July 25, 2013 mindful

Hello my Christ-claimed friend.
‘They will tell it to the inhabitants of this land. They have heard that You, Lord, are among these people, how You, Lord, are seen face to face, how Your cloud stands over them, and how You go before them in a pillar of cloud by day and in a pillar of fire by night.’ (Numbers 14:14 HCSB)

We have been blood-bought. And … get this … are you sitting down?
:::His love is big enough to cover our stuff … :::
do you trust that? Do you know that? Dearheart, let your doubts rise up to meet that truth head-on. Allow your every whim to be covered. Blood-love covered.
Why do that? It is simple: all we do is about His reputation. Others are watching for God Most High in you and in me.
‘We need You, Father. Our people need you. By being near us, they need to know about You: forgiving, patient, merciful.’
Y’all, I want to be so far gone – so lost in Christ that I never get enough. My pursuit keeps me moving closer and closer the edge, and that’s where He then pushes me over so I fall deeper into Him.
I am praying, ‘Father God, take all of me. And, take my people deeper into Your holiness, too. Help us be mindful. Help us to carry every thought and every action thru your blood of pure love.’

Wake up.
Be Blood-bought aware.
Go to bed.

July 24, 2013 space

‘You, Father, are in Me and I am in You. May they also be one in Us, so the world may believe You sent Me.’ (John 17:21 HCSB)

Hello Confident One!
If you’re not letting God Most High push you to your edge, then you’re just taking up space. His voice is powerful clear. He wants your sold-out obedience in ALL of your life. Focus in on scripture – even if only one verse – and listen to how He moves you there. Follow, follow Him. You are so much more than you think you are. You can do so much more than you think you can. Step right on out there. All the way. The God of the Angel-Armies is the one that adores you enough to give you growing space and lead you on in Him. Trust Him. Totally.

July 23, 2013 wobble

‘This is My command: Love one another as I have loved you.’ (John 15:12 HCSB)

Hello Spirit Warrior-
Love. Father God keeps at it. His divine plan shapes a life out of this raw material that very often rebels – trying to shape a life of its own. His love is willing to pay the price of believing in us … believing that we will learn to love like He does, no matter what the past has delivered. The wobble of the heart away from Him is the love destroyer itself. Challenge yourself to love like Christ loves. Challenge your heart to love like Christ.

July 22, 2013 thirst

‘Remain in Me, and I in you. Just as a branch is unable to produce fruit by itself unless it remains on the vine, so neither can you unless you remain in Me.’ (John 15:4 HCSB)

Good morning PreciousOne!
“Tell me about your week Luke.”
“Well, I learned that everyone thirsts for God whether they know it or not Mom.”

You have focused in on where your heart is to remain. With eyes wide open, as you step into the newness of this week with a renewed heart, look around you and in praise and wonder … let the presence of The Almighty soak in. Step out into your truck, into your day, into your people totally consumed by His presence. In your ‘ordinary’ notice the thirst of others – simply to have what you have in Christ. And, go. Share the living water.

Make it a sharing day SweetSoul!
