March 30, 2018 cross extra perks

Hello RestoredOne,

His breath becomes ours when we feel too burdened to carry on. He warms us when too cold. He cools us when too hot –

in emotion,

in thought,

in desire,

in judgement,

in the creative realm of our soul.

He says, “My child, be kind, but never too tame.” He was not tame when He was on the cross.

He stayed, so He can stay in us. In thoughts, in dreams, He beholds us in all our facets and attitudes … because He became every facet, He explored every part of every emotion we experience. He becomes our spiritual muscle when our strength waivers, reshaping our clay hearts, with His insight, and nourishment, and attitude. He faced evil, too. It was disguised as legalism and law. And, because of the cross His hand guides us as we cross, ever closer into Him.

‘The Lord opens the eyes of the blind. The Lord raises up those who are oppressed. The Lord loves the righteous. The Lord protects foreigners and helps the fatherless and the widow, but He frustrates the ways of the wicked.’ (Psalms 146:8-9 HCSB)

March 16, 2018 palms

“But the godly will flourish like palm trees and grow strong like the cedars of Lebanon. For they are transplanted to the Lord’s own house. They flourish in the courts of our God. Even in old age they will still produce fruit; they will remain vital and green. They will declare, “The Lord is just! He is my rock!” Psalms 92:12-15 NLT

Good morning, DearHeart,

I so love God’s Word when His writers reference nature. He calls us … especially during emotional seasons, edge of your seat seasons, what’s coming next seasons … He calls us to connect,

and stay connected to Him through nature.

We’re all bumping up against each other with our agendas,

and cravings,

and ideals …
reaching clumsily for a sense of completion.
We have relationships that bond and then unwind.
We stretch our arms to grab more life,
and we give someone a black eye … offended, left out, who knows? It wasn’t intentional.

It just happened.

It will happen.

Hearts get hurt; vows are broken; sparks doused.
Being God’s Child, following His plan for your life – it leaves breakage.

Why do you need to know the certainty of hurting someone?

It helps to know …so that you don’t shut down when you need to lift off,
so that you still choose to leave the house of familiarity for a new venture God has been brewing in you, or a new mission field in a foreign country … or in your backyard, or to change course to simply make room to love Him deeper still.
Or, to place yourself back into the center of His will … the center of His peace for you.

It helps to know how His nature works when you are exploring wilderness. He gives us a grip on what we face by setting us up,

in the center of His will,

and, we find this place when we look for Him in nature.

Wake up.

Go there.

March 11, 2018 God’s got a plan

Good morning, DearHeart,

Is it just me, or is everything quite radical right now. Little changes to huge – in every single aspect of life. Personal life, emotional life, spiritual life, work life, family life – all transitioning … and different. Events steamrolling in that you and I didn’t see coming, and the first response is … “God, what just happened here? What’s going on? What are you doing here?”

DearOne – your Creator is pulling more from you for His good purpose.

Stop waiting for two trumpet blasts from the heavens.

Stop waiting for an angel appearance. Stop waiting for a sign in the weather patterns.

Just step out in faith,

-presenting everything to the Lord and

-covering everything in prayer,

-knowing that God is a big enough God to protect you and

-stop you if you are about to do anything that would be bad for you.

You may have been waiting for God, but God’s waiting for you.

DearHeart, if your life is in transition, know that our Lord, Jesus Christ, sees right where you are, and he will be with you all along the way.

Persevere. Let Him fill you up with hope. Do a faith check. And move forward in faith. Jesus will meet you and help you all the way. And, when you need to walk away, He will flood you with uncommon courage. He will open a new place for you.

“If you’re not welcomed, not listened to, quietly withdraw. Don’t make a scene. Shrug your shoulders and be on your way.” Then they were on the road. They preached with joyful urgency that life can be radically different; right and left they sent the demons packing; they brought wellness to the sick, anointing their bodies, healing their spirits.”

Mark 6:11-13 MSG

Wake up.

God’s got a plan.

March 7, 2018 launch bravely

Good morning, DearHeart.

We humanskinned folks tend to make God far too small. We put Him in a box. When we choose to do life with Him it means we have chosen to no longer wallow in the quicksand. It means we have made the choice to stand with the Most of the Most. Take a deep breath and let your self grow taller and bolder into that thought. Embrace the fullness of the Almighty. Interrupt the rising anxiety with gratitude … there … feel His Spirit enlarge in you. Feel it? Feel His presence? Feel His Power making you brave?

Enter into the Holy with your whole being and allow the Invincible God of the Universe to break open His Most in you …

Most creative.

Most living.

Most peaceful.

Most bold.

Most loving.

Most determined.

You are ready to launch Dearheart!

‘On the day I called, You answered me; You increased strength within me.’ (Psalms 138:3 HCSB)

Wake up.

Launch bravely.

March 2, 2018 playoffs

‘So let’s do it—full of belief, confident that we’re presentable inside and out. Let’s keep a firm grip on the promises that keep us going. He always keeps his word. Let’s see how inventive we can be in encouraging love and helping out, not avoiding worshiping together as some do but spurring each other on, especially as we see the big Day approaching.’ (Hebrews 10:22-25 MSG)

Good morning, ConfidentOne,

My youngest son, Luke, and his team are in high school state basketball playoffs. Our little town has a population of about 600 in rural southwest Oklahoma.

This is a big deal.

This result makes it okay for us to have raised sons with some sort of basketball goal in our living room for the past 20+years! Ha!

This team of 19 young men is a fresh sight to watch play under the direction of their coach. There is a certain focused mindset; perpetual movement, and fierce groundedness when these guys play well. You can feel it.

I am most fascinated by what it takes to stay focused in each game in spite of all the hype that is going on around them. They are learning to surrender to the coaching that will help them be all that they can be. Cooperation and coordination and the willingness to react to the one on the court with the skills for the ever-changing situation at hand takes time together. Each player’s impact is multiplied when they work together. I am, of course, linking their finesse on the court to life’s bigger game … survival and evolution of the soul, eternity.

Hearing Coach-God-of-the-Angel-Armies amid the hype and chaos and even in the boredom that comes in everyday life means one must make intentional effort.

Time together.

The whistle blows, the Master back-fills the empty, places with necessary changes.

He is the provider of

constant interplays,

constant discards,

constant replacement of ideas,

constant get-back-out-there,

constant fueling,

constant boldness,

constant courage,

constant direction,

constant energies.

Without the consistent, fueling direction of God, the undisciplined one puddles into havoc.

Open up your senses in your minutes to the consistent prompting of the Master on your life court.  Start now.

Wake up. Be intentional. Go.

March 1, 2018 quiver

“Have you given the horse its strength or clothed its neck with a flowing mane? Did you give it the ability to leap like a locust? Its majestic snorting is terrifying! It paws the earth and rejoices in its strength when it charges out to battle. It laughs at fear and is unafraid. It does not run from the sword. The arrows rattle against it, and the spear and javelin flash. It paws the ground fiercely and rushes forward into battle when the ram’s horn blows. It snorts at the sound of the horn. It senses the battle in the distance. It quivers at the captain’s commands and the noise of battle.”
‭‭Job‬ ‭39:19-25‬ ‭NLT‬‬
Dearheart, know this:
Your dreams are not a race,
not a test,
not a series of skill levels that give you permission proceed.
Your dream has life,
every breath in is a choice …
and, each breath fuels your existence deeper into the ways of the Holy …
into more sacred desires …
into the brightness of the Morning Star.
Eternal permission to step into battle for victory, ah – yes, that is the heart of this day.
Permission granted.
Lift your dream higher.
Set it right where you can touch it.
Carry it with you like it deserves to be carried.
A place of honor.
Like a precious blue diamond,
like an Olympic torch,
like solid gold.
Speak to your dream, DearOne, whisper to it. Wrap it in the Holy Spirit. Strap it on with your water canteen and begin the climb toward the sacred ground of God Most High.
Set it on the battle field – in a hidden, secret place. Where only you and your Maker know it is there.
Feed the dream well – with nourishment kinds of foods, the really healthy soul-fuels.
Your dream has been placed by the Holy One.
The God Who Loves You extends the privilege to run in laser focus …
turning dreams into matter.
Make every motion count,
shine through to the finish …
there you will find, there’s no brighter place this side of heaven …
the place where victory meets the earth.
Wake up.
Give dreams life.
