May 30, 2014 storytellers

Mornin’ DearHeart!
I’m thinking about my vacation bible school memories this morn. The circle stories and storytellers … the crafts … theme songs like ‘This is My Father’s World’, Nibor’s recreation-red rover; duck, duck, goose; Joy Freeman’s grape Kool-Aid. (We would jump up to see into the kitchen window as we turned the corner in Bethel’s hallway to see if she was the stirrer – I feel sure she doubled the sugar, mmm!). Memories.
You know, around the entire globe, every ancient culture has had records of rituals and history. Some records are extensive. Others are pieced together with dinosaur bones, leaving us to guess the missing pieces, and passed down treasures:
stories
art
blueprints
dance
writing
paintings
sculpture.
Killing off the artist and the story tellers as our civilization fast-tracks in the name of progress is a killing off a holy class. It makes my heart hurt. The singers, the keepers of the story, dancers, musicians, poets, craftsmen … all those who have the ability to move the the souls and the spirits of people are at risk. It is in traditions, like VBS and Sunday School, and making time for our people that the bones of our culture are carried in the ark and delivered right into our own time.
Blessed memories, Sweetheart – our memories.
Our stories of God Almighty’s hand on our people.
Keeping them sacred requires you and me to be intentional in sharing them.
My friend, if we don’t do it, who will?
Wake up.
Share a God memory in your life.
Plan another for tomorrow.
Go to bed.

‘These words that I am giving you today are to be in your heart. Repeat them to your children. Talk about them when you sit in your house and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.’ (Deuteronomy 6:6, 7 HCSB)

The stars this early morn were amazing, ShiningSoul! It looked like we could climb a ladder and touch them.

‘When I observe Your heavens, the work of Your fingers, the moon and the stars, which You set in place, what is man that You remember him, the son of man that You look after him?’ (Psalms 8:3, 4 HCSB)

Things are different at night, aren’t they? We become closer to feelings and ideas that can’t find space to register during the daytime. Awareness of our heart-thoughts become brightly known, just like the night sky. Creaks and snaps and whooshes agitate to the surface. Rib cages go up and down, in and out. Nothing immediate can be done, so we get forced to sit with our Maker and simply breathe together.
Regrounding.
Returning to His center, where we rock together, back and forth, the fresh wisdoms He lays upon us.
You’re not going anywhere, Child…not doing anything else right now. We’re just going to sit here and hold some promises and breathe. And, rock together.
The rocking sorts what needs to be kept and what needs to be thrown away.
Rock on, GentleHeart. Get calm in the wisdom of your Grounding Source.

‘Every blow GOD lands on them with his club is in time to the music of drums and pipes, GOD in all-out, two-fisted battle, fighting against them.’ (Isaiah 30:32 MSG)

Hello God’s Child,
The enemy does not want Father God to succeed.
Satan uses any in-road he can to keep you and me out of balance and keep any focus off of Christ.
Satan wants you and me to be distracted. Sometimes, I need to be reminded of that.
The Almighty has placed some heavy-handed personalities in my life that BLESS DOWN HARD with His TRUTH. They are not soft or gentle with it. They are brutally honest and they come through at the precise moment I am raring back to throw in the towel.
My heels dig in.
My jaw sets.
They are hard-core-obedient enough to bring it anyway…and my Creator’s deep-earth drumming won’t rest in me til I ease up and listen to His rhythm of truth that He orchestrates through His chosen messengers.
DearOne, the more you are willing to say “yes” to the call of the Most High, the hotter Satan’s fire will get.
Wake up.
Be ready.
Prepare.
Listen to the Truth-souls.
Advance the Kingdom from there.
Go to bed.

May 27, 2014 belly-flop

Hello Fellow Sojourner,
Yesterday was another failed attempt to walk in water. Lately, I seem to be in a belly flop trend – or at least I notice it more than normal. Not that I try to blow-it, it just keeps happening. And, usually, it hits when least expected.
You know, most of Jesus’ lessons were sketchy. The way He taught forces us to think, just as it did the disciples. In teaching His mystical, symbolic, veiled, and implied truths, He often leaves me scratching my head. (Please, someone, ‘AMEN’ that I am not alone here!). Even when He was shooting straight, He left a lot for us to sort out on our own. For instance, how hard can it be to DO His heavy-hitter command…

‘Love the Lord your God with all your
heart, with all your
soul, with all your
mind, and with all your
strength.
“The second is: Love your neighbor as yourself. There is no other command greater than these.” (Mark 12:30, 31 HCSB)

But, how that plays out in everyday hours takes some real thinking.
Learning to think is hard work. It’s a lot easier to just be shown where the lines are and color within them.
So, here’s to trusting God to guide us through the hours as He gives us a new day to try again. I’m praying for you, Chickees. And, could use a few prayers myself.
Wake up.
Think first.
Go to bed.

‘For the vision is yet for the appointed time; it testifies about the end and will not lie. Though it delays, wait for it, since it will certainly come and not be late.’ (Habakkuk 2:3 HCSB)

Good morn ChosenOne!
Your Maker gave you and me an original voice. Yours is not mistaken for anyone else’s and each time you touch there you are living out your appointed life in Christ. While venturing out into that Christ-immersion life, you will surely take criticism from some. Leave your ego behind. As His chosen, you are not meant to live a life of mediocrity. Keep following that place where your soul burns with delight. Follow on in the sure-footed Christ. That wild-release will honor Him every time you release.

‘Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.’ (Hebrews 13:8 HCSB)

Good morning, BeautifulOne!
Trail therapy. Mountains have a way of taking the sense of “urgency” away. The push-push to do this and do that and get here or there falls away. At least, to me it does. It’s the only place I ever hear my driven Dale say, “let’s just chill a while”, and then he really does it!
We stayed in a secluded, old casa, on a mountain near Valdez, NM, owned by a Taos artist.
There is an appeal in God’s creation to entertain a simple sense of discovery – to notice, then to dance to those moments of surprise. Sweetheart, Father God beckons us to see Him in His true nature while finding our way over His Holy landscape – sagebrush and high-woods all marked with His story. Nature’s rich diversity grows in assembly with you and me … all beating to a knowing of belonging to a landscape of an unchanging Savior.
Mmmm.
I love the smell of the high mountains.

‘and many peoples will come and say, “Come, let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, … He will teach us about His ways so that we may walk in His paths.” Isaiah 2:3

His counsel is so rich in nature, SweetOne.
His wisdom seems to eke out of the trees as if soft and rare and for you only. His flowers open with tongues singing His praise and the songs of His birds melt knots in your heart til they are all untied. There is nothing like it.
The voice of the Creator – this is His promise. Hear Him teach you.
Make it a glorious day BelovedOne!

‘For every one of God’s promises is “Yes” in Him’. 2 Corinthians 1:20

Hello PowerfulOne!
There is a secret that is the key – the kind with little scrollwork on top – that causes wild-wandering to fall into step. When we stumble, and the traps snap and bind, there is only one call we must make to counter the predator:
JESUS
He immediately shows up, diving over fences, walls, whatever traps the enemy has set. He is the living being that comes to us from any place, under any condition. He and the enemy have known each other for a very long time. Our Savior tracks him through stories and fables and dreams and through our entire lives. Wherever the monster rears his ugly head, our Counter Attack is poised and ready to win.
Sweetheart, get this: when our soulful life is threatened, yes, when the stakes are high – it is not only acceptable to call on God Almighty, it is also acceptable to show your teeth. And, mean it.
Your Creator powers you. You are no longer a target or an easy mark. Push the predator back where he belongs. Go.

‘When the wine ran out, Jesus’ mother told Him, “They don’t have any wine.” (John 2:3 HCSB)

Hello ChosenOne-
I wonder if Mary and Jesus had heart-to-heart talks about the journey of his birth? The angel, Bethlehem, the stable, visits from Magi.
Would she have asked Him if He knew about His deity? About His purpose? His mission? His destiny?
His first miracle was turning water into wine. Like mom’s command “dinner is ready” what it really means “wash up and let’s eat”. When Mary said the words, “they have no more wine” those were the words that set off Jesus’ entire ministry.
Moms just know things. It was time. The elephant in the room for 30 years was about to be exposed. Think about it, DearHeart, If this moment slipped by, when would the next one come?
“There’s no more wine.”
Now, JC, the ball is in your court. It wasn’t about the wine. The next move was His.
Both He and His mom knew. It was time to get uncomfortable. It was her son’s defining moment.
He knew, deep in His heart and soul He had to take that first step. No matter how small. It was time.
I don’t think Jesus was annoyed with his mom. I think way down deep, He was relieved that she called Him out.
Someone close to you needs a nudge – needs to be called out. Someone needs your nod – your affirming glance. Because, if not now, when?
My time has come.
What about you?

I love glowing things! And, things that sparkle! And, shiny shoes!
‘You are from God, little children, and you have conquered them, because the One who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.’ (1 John 4:4 HCSB)
Mornin’ GreatOne!
So, do you believe that promise? You are so much more than you think you are. You can do so much more than you think you can!
God LOVES it when we GET-IT!!
When the lights come on and we step into the reality and authority of the Holy Spirit in us, our destiny IGNITES!
That ah-HA stirs up a passion-fire that causes a ripple effect into the lives and destiny of others.
Marinate in this a while: from your walk, others are learning who they are as well.
Well, now.
There’s a thought.
What behaviors linger from your glow, DearOne?
