‘On your feet now—applaud GOD! Bring a gift of laughter, sing yourselves into his presence.’ (‭Psalm‬ ‭100‬:‭1-2‬ MSG)

Good morning, BlessedOne!
What a beautiful weekend ahead! I tell you what, I am thankful for my loves – from the young and fresh faces to the wise and experienced ones with lines across their foreheads, and all those hearts in between. There are souls whose life-stories have been chosen to connect with mine. For you, just so you know, I am honored and thankful.

Thank You, God Most High. For undeserved grace. Your ways are right. Your gifts are amazing.
I am a blessed woman.

Wake up.
Make notes-to-self of thankful things all day long.
Go!

‘“You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt should lose its taste, how can it be made salty? It’s no longer good for anything but to be thrown out and trampled on by men.’ (‭Matthew‬ ‭5‬:‭13‬ HCSB)

Mornin’ BeautifulOne.
You know I do a lot of studies in personality types and in psyche and brain function peculiarities. It fascinates me. And, what even blows my mind more than all the UNIQUE flavors entwined in one’s thought process is simply this:
God is beautiful.
Beautiful as the only truth you and I will ever know, and beautiful as He asserts Himself as the One who stirs us, arouses pleasure in us, and creates in us a hunger for Himself – that He then rewards with absolute delight!
He is lovely.
And, He is love worthy.
And, His plan in us and through us is perfect.

Wake up.
Notice your hunger for God Almighty.
Go!

November 25, 2014 nobody wins

“You’re blessed when you can show people how to cooperate instead of compete or fight. That’s when you discover who you really are, and your place in God’s family. “You’re blessed when your commitment to God provokes persecution. The persecution drives you even deeper into God’s kingdom.’ (Matthew‬ ‭5‬:‭9-10‬ MSG)

Friends, regardless of your feelings on the Ferguson, Missouri decision, remember that a young man is dead, his family is left grieving with scars that will linger and last and can only be soothed by each touch from God Almighty.
On the other side, DearOne, an officer who faced a crisis situation reacted and as a result, his life and family and livelihood will never be the same either.
Nobody wins.
It all boils down to this: soul has no color. As children of the Most High God, you and I have a responsibility to stand up in these stormy times and take as many as we can with us deeper into the Kingdom of God.
Wake up.
Show your soul.
Go.

November 24, 2014 practice peace

‘The peacemakers are blessed, for they will be called sons of God.’ (‭Matthew‬ ‭5‬:‭9‬ HCSB)

Good morning, PeaceWarrior.
Just sit back a minute, wherever you are.
Breathe.
Long, soothing, quiet breaths, let them sing into your body. It is hard to bring peace to yourself and others when your breathing is shallow and short …. huff, huff, huff, huff, like a freight train. Peace inspires, but it has a hard time breaking thru tight and tough little breathing openings, and you can hardly give away any peace unless you own it yourself. Breathe, LivingSoul. Breathe.

Wake up.
Breathe.
Share your peace.
Go.

November 21, 2014 tamed power

‘The gentle are blessed, for they will inherit the earth.’ (‭Matthew‬ ‭5‬:‭5‬ HCSB)

Good Morning, PowerfulOne!
It is common to think of one who is meek as one who is weak. But, it seems to me that is a mistake, DearHeart. Those of us who choose to submit to the the authority of Christ are far from weak. Rather, the power is under radical control. Tamed power.
One of the most tamed-power things you and I can do in these days, our stormy hours, is stand up in peaceful resilience and let a Christ-filled soul be seen. What will you choose to show today?

Wake up.
Show your soul.
Go.

November 20, 2014 beatitude ramble

‘“The poor in spirit are blessed, for the kingdom of heaven is theirs.
Those who mourn are blessed, for they will be comforted.’
(‭Matthew‬ ‭5‬:‭3-4‬ HCSB)

Hi, DearHeart – my mind is tumbling everywhere this morn. Perhaps Father God is speaking to you, too. Well, yes. Of course, He is.
The Sermon on the Mount came straight from the heart of Jesus.
Was Jesus happy?
Yes. (IMHO)
Why?
Because He ‘got it’.
He was the big picture. The Source of Healing delivers centered joy.
I dreamed last night about telling a man with his tie too tight that life isn’t only about following
strict,
corporate,
research-based,
rule-driven policy from 8-5.
Life is 24/7. It all overlaps. Every part feeds in to every other part. And, no matter what time of day – we are first and foremost responsible to our Creator for our behavior. He trumps everything.
Choosing to live Christ-centered is choosing to follow hard after the only ‘peace-kind’ of happiness available.
None of the beatitudes are natural. Every one comes to you and me as supernatural. To be infused into each is to start a walk with God Almighty that, along the way, turns into an intentional quest. It turns a corner where pure trust in our Creator has to be given over. The event becomes a choice – “Does this turn out alright?” – the only choice for an ‘alright’ outcome is to trust Him and move.
Action/behavior/spoken words = that is what “move” means.
Activate your behavior with Christ.
Listen.
Act.
Move His direction.
‘Those who mourn’ – that is the same as ‘those with needs’. You have needs. I have needs. Every face in your life today … they have needs.
Walk down the halls today.
See a face.
See their needy face.
Pride refuses to admit “I have a need”, and it keeps us one separation line between the need and the only One who can turn the need into a place of comfort.
Are you in?
Will you admit need?
Will you see/hear/feel need around you?
Will you act?

Wake up.
Choose to act.
Go.

November 19, 2014 road show

<img src="https://lewis3sunz.files.wordpress.com/2014/11/img_0239.jpg" alt="IMG_0239.JPG" class="alignnone When He saw the crowds, He went up on the mountain, and after He sat down, His disciples came to Him. Then He began to teach them' (‭Matthew‬ ‭5‬:‭1-2‬ HCSB)

'Mornin', Showstopper!
When I was a 'youth' our youth choir performed a musical called "LightShine". It was based on the be-attitudes … how to 'be', from Jesus' Sermon on the Mount. It was important to my life. We were a traveling road show for a while.
Stayed in people's homes.
Ate at tables of strangers.
Learned that deep down, having Jesus in common was all we ever would need to serve Him in a huge way. Small crowds came to listen to Christ's teaching through a bunch of rag-tag, highly diverse, multi-backgrounded, we-just-love-Jesus youth. And, although the fact that we loved Jesus may have been the only thing some of us had in common, it was enough. Jesus used us for His message-delivery-tool.
This is the only of Jesus' sermons that was recorded in its entirety. He teaches how to live in Him without fear and without compromise, because He knew-wherever you are today, whatever you will be doing, you will be brushing up next to ones who are desperate for the Christ you have grown to deeply love. No matter how your background compares to theirs, reach out to them. Beyond words, they are begging to know your Jesus.
Wake up.
No fear.
No compromise.
Reach.
Go.

Nov 18, 2014 wind I soar on

‘So Jesus said to the Jews who had believed Him, “If you continue in My word, you really are My disciples. You will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” (‭John‬ ‭8‬:‭31-32‬ HCSB)

Good morning, God’s Child,
God’s truth in you is incredibly powerful. It raises the supernatural. Many followers of Christ enjoy only the social aspect of praise and worship and the move of the Holy Spirit through shared experiences … and, those are critical to our relationship with the Almighty and with others. We need that. But, to release the supernatural of His fullness in you – well, that only comes from one on one time IN His Word. When you choose to neglect time alone in Scripture, you are making an active choice to miss God’s voice and His call on your hours today. Begin fresh with this truth today. Write verse 32 on your palm. Commit to a quiet time. Go.

P. S. I’m always amazed, as I read, then write thoughts in my son’s bible each day, how my Creator turns old stones in me…He sharpens the dull, gives clarity and sharpness in the stale places – mmmmm, I love that.

November 13, 2014 praise

Standard

IMG_0184.JPG

Good morning PraisingSoul,
I think the writers of the hymns understood what it meant to adore God. Just read through the lyrics in your hymnal sometime. The hymns are more than just music; they are poetry, instruction, encouragement, wisdom, exhortation and precious letters of love. They are songs of repentance, songs of victory and songs of praise. They reflect the light of God s Word, and remind us to take our eyes off ourselves and put them on Jesus where they belong. When I read them, I am moved, and when I sing them, my soul is stirred. They carry me to a place of pure love.
What a thrill it is to wrap my heart and humming around the melodies that have praised God for generations. I hope that in some small way, these songs that have survived the ages and remain alive and present in the hearts of modern worshippers around the world will continue to survive deep into the generations of ones who follow.
Look up, always look up, and give Him praise. In the darkness, give him praise. Through joy or suffering, give him praise. Never cease to praise him.
Yes, I adore Him… and often with a deep, rapturous love.

‘speaking to one another in psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, singing and making music from your heart to the Lord, giving thanks always for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ,’ (‭Ephesians‬ ‭5‬:‭19-20‬ HCSB)

Wake up.
Praise.
Go.

‘We all, with unveiled faces, are looking as in a mirror at the glory of the Lord and are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory; this is from the Lord who is the Spirit.’ (2 Corinthians‬ ‭3‬:‭18‬ HCSB)

Good morning DearOne,

This is our Luke’s sixteenth birthday, and that seems insanely impossible! Of
our three sons, he looks most like my side of the family, but thinks and
acts most like the Lewis side of our family. Beautiful blend.
He’s a planner,
an analyzer,
always improving something,
mysterious,
commanding,
competitive,
and determined…
with a fiery and war-like vein.
He is a child of God Almighty. He loves.
He keeps me on my toes. I adore him.

Father,
Most High God,
I pray that my child, with unveiled face will continue to reflect Your glory, ever-increasing in Your likeness. He has been set-apart to live a life worthy of You. May his heart’s desire be to please You. I pray that he will draw in the strength and the power of the Holy Spirit to help him make powerful choices for Your kingdom. I pray that he will allow Your Spirit to consistently change him into Your glorious likeness.
In the precious and holy name of Jesus I ask.
Amen

Have you a child, my friend, over whom you will offer up a prayer?

Wake up.
Pray over a child.
Go.
