Good morning, Dearheart. Have you ever touched a hot-wire fence? If I only had a dime we’ve walked one out looking for the culprit, lone, rogue weed causing the fence to short out.
One of my young sons grabbed hold on accident when he was working on one years ago. It hit. He yelped this sort of loud and pitiful goat/bark sound and spun out into a pure hostile pout. We still bring it up for a good laugh a few times a year. It may have been my oldest. š
In the course of a life there are times you get hit by surprise. You are misunderstood. You think you are doing the right thing, and taking a load off others, only to find out you’ve inadvertently skipped protocol and landed yourself in tainted waters.
Life makes sharp turns – gets unexpectedly messy sometimes.
Iām always getting reminded, BelovedOne, this trailing Jesus gig is not always the cakewalk I imagined I was signing up for at the ripe age of eleven. Years have taught me that it has seasons of
messy,
tangled-up,
mixed messages (“you are empowered because you do the work & know what’s best, wait … not really, just kidding”)
confusing missions,
where you land in the throws of …
‘Wow, I didn’t see that coming’. Donāt get me wrong ā my faith doesnāt get shaken; itās just that thereās a whole lot of fine print in the deal. Sometimes, I get surprised at what I signed up for. I have found grace and mercy in places I never expected. And, judgement and harshness where I expected to find grace and mercy and thankful hearts.
Believers find disappointment and hard times, yet they keep believing because they know Father God is good and He loves them.
Sometimes, I feel like a know a lot about Godās ways, and still act like a complete blockhead and, that yields an extra jaunt through consequences.
Other times, my right intentions get me tangled in the hot-wire fence.
Stay the course with me DearOne, no matter the surprises.
In the end, God wins.
‘For consider Him who endured such hostility from sinners against Himself, so that you wonāt grow weary and lose heart.
Therefore strengthen your tired hands and weakened knees, and make straight paths for your feet, so that what is lame may not be dislocated but healed instead.ā Hebrews 12:3, 12-13
Wake up.
Press on.
