January 31, 2018 Outlast

Standard

Mornin’ y’all. God loves impossible situations.

That’s where he does his finest work.

He could have rescued Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego from the fury of the king and from the fury of the flames BEFORE they were ever thrown in. But, God waited until they were all the way in. And, His God-timing was perfect.

Just thinking .. when I don’t know where the storm is coming from …

When I am powerless to stop it …

When there’s no reason for it …

When unjust things occur …

I can’t fix the storm. But, praise God, I can outlast it. Because I’m not going anywhere. The drought can grow all it likes. The wind can blow as hard as it wants to. But when all is said and done, by the grace of God, I’m still going to be here. I’m going to be right where I am (or higher), in my place, seeking God and doing what God has called me to do.

So let the winds blow if they need to. Let the scorching drought or the flooding rains come if they need to. I’m going to hunker down in the shadow of the Almighty, and He’ll keep me safe through the storm. And all I have to do is get through it. All I have to do is outlast it.

One breath at a time,

one response at a time,

one day at a time.

And, that’s all you have to do, too. All you have to do is outlast the storm … because every storm in history has stopped sometime.

There’s not a single storm that’s ever been, on the face of the whole earth, that hasn’t stopped. Not one. That means your problems have a shelf life.

Your storm has an end.

The winds of adversity cannot blow forever.

“Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego replied, “O Nebuchadnezzar, we do not need to defend ourselves before you. If we are thrown into the blazing furnace, the God whom we serve is able to save us. He will rescue us from your power, Your Majesty. But even if he doesn’t, we want to make it clear to you, Your Majesty, that we will never serve your gods or worship the gold statue you have set up.” Daniel 3:16-18

“Look!” Nebuchadnezzar shouted. “I see four men, unbound, walking around in the fire unharmed! And the fourth looks like a god!” Daniel 3:25 NLT

“There is no other god who can rescue like this!” Daniel 3:29 NLT

Wake up.

There is no god like our God.

Outlast this.

Go.

“Now as they observed the confidence of Peter and John and understood that they were uneducated and untrained men, they were amazed, and began to recognize them as having been with Jesus.” Act 4:13

Mornin’.

You feeling bold yet? Or, does fear stand in your way? As a child of the Living God, you won’t find progress through traditional means, Dearheart. Because, force, fear, and standard deviations don’t inspire. We are moved by big truth… and, crazy love for the big truth. The Holy Spirit speaks in a frequency and language that He alone sets in your heart … accessible through prayer and relationship building with Him. While others drive through life building and delivering problems, you are free to choose relationship with God Most High instead. When you partner with the Spirit, you choose to boldly drive home solutions. His solutions. Where FULL confidence flows if you allow it.

Others may not like your choices. They don’t have to. Your concern is simply bold listening and bold follow-through with His still small voice, ringing like thunder, as your guide.

Others will recognize you, too, as bold … as having been with Jesus.

Wake up.

Follow bolder.

Go.

Tonight is is Senior night for my youngest, y’all. How did this even happen? I blinked.

My Luke is fully loaded and completely equipped with everything he needs as long as he keeps Christ highest in his heart. We’ve learned to trust God Most High to bring in the right people, show him the right places, and deliver in His perfect timing.

But, this is not easy for a momma.

I keep reminding myself he is a strong, independent thinker. A mix of logic, reason, and ‘get-after-it’. He is wound a little tighter than most. Man – does he ever keep me on my toes.

His senior year is/has been one of letting go, when motherhood becomes a complicated mixture of pushing him forward and holding him back. Every day I cry a few tears as I get used to the idea of him moving on from our home, but at the same time, I am so excited for him to embrace this next phase of life. Because every time I’ve asked God to “just keep him here at this age, this age is the best!” God has revealed a new place in my sons where He takes them to a new level of life with new growth, and new joys … new planes – places ever-better. A new place of “this age is the best”.

I am in your corner, Luke Lewis, your loudest cheerleader, and proudest Mother. I’m right here. Always. Watching you in wonder, supporting plans for your tomorrows, and praising our Maker for the gift of you.

I love you, son.

Mom

“There is hope for your future,” says the Lord. “Your children will come again to their own land.”

Wake up.

Love them hard.

Standard

Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my concerns. See if there is any offensive way in me; lead me in the everlasting way.’ Psalms 139:23, 24

Mornin’ SweetOne!

You know … asking God for feedback on who you are is enlightening. Asking people for that feedback can be, too. It can also be daunting. We don’t enter great partnerships or leave bad ones … because we don’t trust ourselves. Oh, we want to feel comfortable, proud, confident in ourselves – but spend too much of the time in fear and worry, ashamed of who we are because we won’t measure up, or we think someone else did it better.

Beloved, stop it.

There are energy vampires trying to suck the Holy away from you all the time. Send them away and choose to love them from a distance.

You don’t need fixing, but, down low, on your knees, face it, your beliefs in who you are do!

Let the Almighty Father God have His way in your lack of self-confidence.

He knows the real you. I see it too.

Refreshing and rare.

You.

The one who walks through this day with beauty and heart and radiance that can’t be found anyplace else. You own it. Filled with ease, alive and moving in your own skin.

Wake up.

Hit your knees.

Claim your confidence.

statement – make your pledge of faith: 1) God is who He says He is,

2) God can do what He says He can do,

3) I am who God says I am,

4) I can do all things through Christ, and

5) God’s Word is alive and active in me.

Radiate.

Go!

“Again, I assure you: If two of you on earth agree about any matter that you pray for, it will be done for you by My Father in heaven. For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there among them.” Matthew 18:19, 20

Good morn,

I have my go-to gals that’ll stop, drop, and pray at any request. I smile in my heart when I think of them … mostly, because I know we have been divinely appointed to

this place,

this time …

each other …

together.

I call on them often. Yesterday, they petitioned with me … “hey, y’all … my niece is going through …”

and, they reacted strong and sure and confident in praying down courage and understanding and growth. Knowing God gives more than we need when we ask.

It’s all alright.

We’re together thru the daily grind and the daily victories.

It’s all alright.

We hold onto each other.

We comfort each other.

We pass tissues around and dry each other’s faces.

It’s all alright.

We hold candles for each other, til we all find our way to our knees.

Arms over shoulders, together.

Even across space and time and airwaves, arms reach around waists, holding hands.

We are band aids for one another, splints, and crutches.

A tribe of heart-wounded prayer warriors for one another. Appointed by the Almighty for such a time as this.

You are, too.

His love continues to find shelter in your heart and my heart – together bumping light into someone’s world.

Wake up.

Reach out to your praying people.

Go.

January 12, 2018 claim faith anyway

Standard

Hey, Dearheart! Good morning!

I prayed recently for God to take me deeper into relationship with Him.

When you pray to go to the next level, you know what happens? Satan always schedules an enemy attack, have you noticed?

The enemy suddenly sends unwanted surprises — and darts come flying at us like we are a target! As you duck and swerve into defense mode you think, “gee whiz! I didn’t see that coming!”

But, what we see as an arrow meant to harm, God uses to take us deeper into the next level of faith. He doesn’t deal in problems; He deals in promises. Start praying His promises-by doing so, we ask Him and all His GLORY to step up our circle of influence,

inspire boldness,

inspire laser beam focus,

inspire creativity,

allow us to share Him in new ways.

Sometimes, faith will make you look silly. But, God loves impossible situations.

So, claim faith anyway.

No matter what obstacles come, here’s the deal:

when you go to Father with mustard seed faith, walls fall.

The bigger blessing awaits.

Going deeper is worth it. Wildest-dream-blessings worth it.

‘My eager expectation and hope is that I will not be ashamed about anything, but that now as always, with all boldness, Christ will be highly honored in my body, whether by life or by death.’ Philippians 1:20

Wake up.

Ask.

Do.

Go.

January 11, 2018 scatter kindness

Standard

“When she speaks she has something worthwhile to say, and she always says it kindly.” Proverbs‬ ‭31:10-31‬ ‭MSG

Good morning, Dearheart.

Sometimes, when you look back at a misstep or two, you realize the timing wasn’t right, but your heart was. Any time a new season opens for you, a new job, relationship, project, no matter how much you have worked for it or wished for it, it always arrives with its own fresh set of issues. Problems. Hardness. Obstacles. Even the best seasons and adventures have obstacles to overcome.

Arise with expectation, BeautifulSoul.

Keep speaking kind words into the hurt people and hurt places.

There are parts of even some relationships in your life that you have built for good … that have been a gift … that have parts that cry out to be released from your grip and placed into the creative hands of the Almighty.

He calls for them.

He is the sculptor.

He sees your tears ,

He knows the brokenness of your heart.

Endless. Tired.

God calls.

He has a plan to gently rock the tender back into the life of the wholeness of your heart. On your behalf, He knows where to stand, where to growl, when to get down and dirty to get to the place of kindness where you both need the strength to give and need the strength to receive.

That is where the good works can be freed and can begin. Yes, that is where the longer reaches of love will leave the deepest footprints.

Let go of bones. Forget a little. Move on. Give your Creator space to call a fresh-wild breath into the hands and hearts of weary-worn places that still call for you to be kind and trust His power flowing through you … because you are a most loved child of the Most High God.

Wake up, kindly.

Love anyway, in kindness. No matter what.

Go.

January 9, 2018 big thing praying

Standard

“I have not stopped thanking God for you. I pray for you constantly, asking God, the glorious Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, to give you spiritual wisdom and insight so that you might grow in your knowledge of God.” Ephesians‬ ‭1:16-17‬ ‭NLT

Good morning, DearOne.

Have you noticed that when you bump up your prayer efforts when you’re going through a really hard time, making sure to pray about all manner of things, you will see all manner of answers? And, even if God is saying “not yet” regarding The Big Thing you’re asking for… He WILL say “yes” to other things. There is an order. And a process in which He works and delivers.

And when He does say “not yet”, then His “yeses” to other things will both reassure you and build your faith that He is hearing your prayer about The Big Thing, and in time He will move to bring resolution. You can trust Him here. Especially when what you are praying for is the hard stuff – where you have no control for the choices others make. Keep in mind – someone’s mental illness is not your mental illness.

-Their threats do not need to be your triggers;

-their choices are not your “I should’ve been more ___.”

Do this: As you pray, send them love, not suffering over their suffering. Send them light. Send them respect for the journey they have chosen — it’s not your journey. Their mistakes are part of their story, just as you own yours.

Not everyone is help-able. When you are “trying” to be of service to someone — from paying for groceries, to literally trying to save their life — you have to leave a lot of room for the Holy Spirit to move in them. (Get outta His way).

You cannot know what someone’s soul is choosing, or why. That is their choice and goes with their story. You don’t know. Let it go. It doesn’t belong to you.

You’ve got to know and continue to pray for what keeps you well … MORE than well —

strong,

vital,

lit up,

curious.

What you need for you and what others need from you is your light (not your guilt).

Wake up.

Send them love.

Go.

January 4, 2018 still Holy

Standard

Good morning, God’s child.

Yesterday was a very rough day for families very dear to us. Three families experienced loss of the superior elders of their clans. The deaths were unrelated. Yet, heartache of loss has a reverb of sameness. And, have you noticed, in loss, we tend to hold on to every shred of memory? Perhaps it is a survival instinct. Perhaps, it is what fuels us to keep moving forward … fuels us to stand stronger in who we are, and who God is. Perhaps, holding on to the power of the Spirit that lived in them, we realize that God is still holy;

still all-powerful;

still good and kind and loving;

still eternal;

still omniscient;

still the Savior … whether we are ok with everything going on in our lives or not.

Through loss I’ve realized more and more over time, that I don’t have a right to pick and choose when I praised Him, because whether I have a good day or bad day, HE is still the same.

And, when we ask for answers to why suffering or pain happens, there is no guarantee that I will like what He says at first. But, I do guarantee that He gives HOPE along with His answer. His Word always brings hope!

Beloved, you can stand on His power even when you can’t stand on your own. He has promised, His grace is sufficient for you. His strength is made perfect in our weakness. As He raises His hand for the sun to rise this morning, as He calls in all creatures, the multitudes of beasts from places far away to swarm across the horizon and face the east and fill in a vast circle around their Creator, He is calling you to simply stand, too … to simply listen for the Spirit and sense Him from a place deep within, and know His ways. Just as the creatures of the earth trust Him. All things are in their proper order.

“But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me.” 2 Corinthians‬ ‭12:9‬ ‭ESV‬‬

Wake up.

Stand.

Feel His Presence.

Go.

‘Now this is the confidence we have before Him: Whenever we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.’ 1 John 5:14

Mornin’, PrayerWarrior –

When we change the way we pray, we change everything.

Why do you think the disciples ask Jesus, “Lord, teach us to pray?”

Because, they saw our Jesus pray and they got it:

His. power. came. from. prayer.

They got it.

Miracles come from prayer.

That word is for you, too.

Something unique – a God thing – happens in the spiritual realm – when you pray, an alignment with Father God shifts into place, plunging deeper both ways … and, our awareness and answers heighten.

Prayer = proper alignment.

Pull out all the stops on prayer, DearOne. ‘Pulling out all the stops’ simply means do it.

Burdens get placed on your heart so you can take them right back to Him.

Parts and people and places for which we are thankful rise – and we say, “Awe, Father – thanks … that’s all from You.”

Does your heart ache in a burden for your situation?

For your people?

For your world?

You can make a difference if you want to change it.

Prayer time is the profound difference maker.

Get specific.

Write out your list.

Praise …

Confess …

Forgive …

Grateful …

Burdens …

Needs …

Pray.

Wake up.

List them.

Go.

( BTW-I’m praying for you)
