January 31, 2013 ask

‘And I tell you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened.’ (Luke 11:9, 10 ESV)

It seems many times we ask for help to change our dreadful story, but we
fail to hear,
fail to listen,
prefer to stay stuck in our life-snuffing quicksand.
Why that is, I do not know.
Habit?
Fear?
Laziness?
Beloved One, you need to hear this: when you make the heart-call, your Father God, The Creator of the Universe, The Most High hears you. He moves at the sound of your voice.
Do not take that lightly.
He will make His way to you,
through the oceans,
through the star fields,
under the mountains,
across iron bars,
into the core of the hardest heart.
When you call His move is instant to be with you …
teaching you,
refocusing you,
hiding you,
comforting you,
very often, He comes in a new, not completely comfortable way.
And, we learn from Him, Sweetsoul, this place is no accident.
It is through our story that His quest reveals Himself. It is through our story that we learn to see Him; we learn to know Him; learn to trust His ways.

‘ For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways. On their hands they will bear you up, lest you strike your foot against a stone. You will tread on the lion and the adder; the young lion and the serpent you will trample underfoot. “Because he holds fast to me in love, I will deliver him; I will protect him, because he knows my name.’ (Psalms 91:11-14 ESV)

Some days, fear wakes us.
It shakes us.
It sets in to stay.
Under its pressure, it demands all of your attention DearOne. And, under that pressure, you have a choice calling.
When you call on the power of Jesus Christ, He moves in with white-hot authority. In our heaviness, He creates. His Holy Spirit dives deeply sending sparks into the fear as He burns hole after hole into fear’s story.
Beloved, do not fail to ask.
Do not fail to ask.

‘give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. Do not quench the Spirit.’
(1 Thessalonians 5:18, 19 ESV)

Our world is hyper-pushing worldliness.
-expensive brands
-just a peek, press this link
-trash talking words
-winning at all costs
– …and lying about it
… all are ways to try to “fit in” and look good to others,
… all are ways to snuff out His Spirit in us.
Sweetheart, do not give in to that! The only measuring stick you and I need in this messed-up world is the one provided by Father God.
His mark is on your very soul.
Our longing for Him,
our desire to know Him,
to be changed by Him,
to follow His ways of acute insight,
His sheltering ways,
these are the evidence that He exists,
that He continues to live as huge, not invisible, but the actively felt God-Force in our life and in our world right now.
He is that tug, pulling something stubborn from the ground of us, helping us to let die what must die; helping us to let live what must live.
Be quenched in His Spirit!

Good morning SoulStar 🙂

‘Be silent before the Lord and wait expectantly for Him; do not be agitated by one who prospers in his way, by the man who carries out evil plans.
Refrain from anger and give up ⌊your⌋ rage; do not be agitated — it can only bring harm.
For evildoers will be destroyed, but those who put their hope in the Lord will inherit the land.’ (Psalms 37:7-9 HCSB)

Be still thoughts.
Retreat!
Ever since we staggered out of the fog ages ago, Monday morning to-do lists have been trying to reel us straight into madness, unless …. unless … we breathe down deep and ask The Master Tamer to take over.
Claim Him Dearheart.
Claim His ways.
‘God Almighty, still the anxiousness.
You are the heart of all wisdom,
You have lived through wars.
You have been outlawed.
You have stripped and stabbed.
You have been dismissed.
You know.
You know.
Yet, You survived to live in us and for us.
Unlock the mystery of Your unending, unwavering peace in me this day.
Let me know You more.
I want to be changed by You.
I want to follow Your insight,
follow Your sheltering ways.
Be the Force in my life today.
And, to You all praise is given.’
Amen.

Superb Sunday Morning to ya SweetSoul!

‘If you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. One believes with the heart, resulting in righteousness, and one confesses with the mouth, resulting in salvation.’ (Romans 10:9, 10 HCSB)

I do not know how he got roped into teaching Training Union for 5th and 6th grade girls. He was wondering the same thing I am sure. Perhaps nobody else would take us … and, they said “Carl has lots of experience”, being that he was raising a houseful of females. Nevertheless, we were stuck.
And, low and behold the old man (anyone over 40 is old to a 12 year old) was telling us to write in our Bibles. Horrorhhhhs!
” I don’t write in my bible”, I told him.
Carl replied, “you’re going to write this”.
“Mmm, my mom might get mad.”
“Then your mom can take that up with me later. Angie, pick up that pen and write this on the back page.”

I wasn’t getting anywhere. So, I picked up the pen and wrote. But, not before Deedra, Cendy, Sonya, Glenda and I exchanged eye-rolls.

Carl’s bullying to make me write the plan of salvation in this rebel-child’s Bible sparked something. He knew a time would come when I would need it. When others would need it from me. Even when I dug in my heels, he knew.

God does that with us too, doesn’t He?
We rebel. He pushes.
We look away. He moves with us.
We make excuses. He says HE will deal with that.
He doesn’t give up.

The first thing I do with every new bible is turn to the back cover … And write the plan of salvation.

You need to write it in yours too. No back talk. Just do it.

Sometimes.
I think we forget,
as His child
He has appointed us.

‘(He) has determined their appointed times and the boundaries of where they live.
For in Him
we live
and move
and exist,
as even some of your own poets have said,
‘For we are also His offspring.’
(Acts 17:26, 28 HCSB)

In Him we live.
We move.
We exist.
My life is His.
Embedded in Christ.
Who is embedded in God.
Child, when you became His, your Spirit is taken to a new homeplace that your physical body has never been.
Our skin-bodies are bound by time. They did not exist back in 1920. They do exist today, in 2013.
Our Spirits are not bound.
Your Spirit is anchored in the eternal.
When you accepted Christ,
Your Spirit blended into Christ’s,
Who’s Spirit resides in God Most High.
Souls delivered straight into the very veins of The Divine.
Live there.

‘Pursue peace with everyone, and holiness — without it no one will see the Lord. Make sure that no one falls short of the grace of God and that no root of bitterness springs up, causing trouble and by it, defiling many.’ (Hebrews 12:14, 15 HCSB)

Good morning Friday friend! Right out of the box this morn – TGIF!

It seems that in the midst of misery, so much becomes clear. As if our norm is shaken and truth rattles to the top. The one who says “nothing good came of this” is not yet listening. Because, Beloved … when the war is over, it is never simply “over”. The next war, the far larger war, moves in once the bloody skirmish stops. This war is not over for years, many times, for generations to come.

Like a hungry beggar- lift your heart to the One who Heals. His greater workings, I can not claim to understand.
But, I know He is right.
He is right.

‘You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You.’ (Isaiah 26:3 ESV)

It is impossible to help one find peace when they prefer the life of a tortured mind. That work is between them and God Most High.
We think we have to go down that road to “fix” them. Peace becomes the memory of your days from long, long ago. Beloved, sometimes you and I are called to step away – to let that loved one fight their own battle. Their emptiness creates a desperation. And, in desperation they finally allow the healing light of Father God to shine ever more deeply upon them.
We want to jump in and save them from themselves, but instead, are called to a support role. Every once on a while, support means to back off and give God space to do His work in them.
Those are times we think we are on one road, knowing the way, and suddenly find God Most High has picked us up, road and all, and set us down in an unknown foreign country. The only way out is to stay your mind on Him.

Peace,
Angie

‘I was afraid I would lose your money, so I hid it in the earth. Look, here is your money back.’ …
‘To those who use well what they are given, even more will be given, and they will have an abundance. But from those who do nothing, even what little they have will be taken away. Now throw this useless servant into outer darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’ (Matthew 25:25, 29, 30 NLT)

Good morning Gifted One!
Father God loves a partnership. We often avoid the burning that makes our talent-muscles strong.
We dodge.
We duck.
We hide.
We want everything to stay the same.
But, even though we are afraid, the fire comes anyway – sometimes on purpose, sometimes by pure accident, sometimes for no rhyme or reason … other than it is The Almighty’s plan … and the fire comes and erupts our best skills.
Fire is scary. It changes everything. It can stir all in the line of chaos into a new direction,
a fresh purpose,
a different way of life,
-one that has its own strengths and strategy.
Prepare to get uncomfortable Beloved One. Your gifts used in partnership with The God of the Universe will rock the world!

‘Jesus ignored her.
The disciples came and complained,
“Now she’s bothering us. Would you please take care of her? She’s driving us crazy.” Jesus refused, telling them,
“I’ve got my hands full dealing with the lost sheep of Israel.”
Then the woman came back to Jesus,
went to her knees, and begged.
“Master, help me.”
(Matthew 15:23-25 MSG)

God Most High does not treat everyone the same. The woman begged for help. You see, like you and me Sweetheart, we must speak of what has hurt us; otherwise the war-beast leaps out in our nightmares in horrific fits of brutal anger. And, when we hold it in, refuse to speak of it, it will try to chase out of us the Spirit moving across the fields of our heart.
The woman was desperate. Mothers snap when their young is being threatened. She had heard of the Healer. She knew His ways. She did not mistake His silence for a lack of love.
You, too, DearOne, must not mistake His silence for a lack of love.
Stay the course. Hit Him up again, and again, and prepare your heart for His answer in a most unexpected way.
“Master, help me”.
