April 29, 2016 rock solid

Standard

“And I tell you, you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.” Matthew‬ ‭16:18‬ ‭ESV‬‬

Good morning, Beloved.

Peter has always been my favorite. He failed. He sunk. Literally – walked on water and sunk.

Emotionally – denied the One and Only. Again. And again.

That surely sunk his high/low personality into the deepest crater.

Been there.

You, too?

Perhaps …his shortcomings, failures, served him. Not so much to be purged from him … or judged by them … but, for him to learn to embrace them in such a way that his struggles brought him face to face with his Savior – the Savior who saved him from himself again, and again, and again.

From the deep darkness of his soul, Peter’s struggles contributed – in a meaningful way, back into central, focused conversations with his Maker. And, after sinking like a rock (and, he really did) his conversations with God shaped him into the Creator’s solid rock.

What greater compliment, than to be called out by God Most High? You have been called. Just like Peter.

Sometimes it takes collapsing in an emotional puddle of ruin, to meet the Savior face to face.

But, oh.

When you meet Him here.

Mm. Be ready for the turnaround.

Wake up.

Embrace the struggle.

Your rock solid is coming.

Go.

April 26, 2016 ten new

Standard

“In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.” Matthew‬ ‭5:16‬ ‭ESV‬‬

Good morning BlessedOne.
Think about this day and as you prepare – ask your Creator’s blessing to cover it. Give the hours of this day YOUR blessing, too.

You have a Divine role to play as you will experience all brand new minutes. You will see brand new colors, behaviors, have new talks with others, and with yourself. Find new experiences.

Find new blessings in what would otherwise be regular, ordinary, mundane.

Open yourself up to changes that the Holy Spirit is orchestrating in you.

Thank Him for your gifts,

for your creativity,

for allowing you a chance to share with those you love. Celebrate your own creativity today – fresh ideas … all gifts from God Most High. He has empowered you with specific gifts to give that can only go through you … things you don’t see –

like the power of your smile,

the touching of a hand,

a simple kind word.

You don’t realize your power on others – you are a channel of His Holiness; ask Him to pour ten new gifts into you – and ask your Maker to make them invisible to you but for these new gifts to be a blessing to others …

pure,

and gentle,

and needed.

Wake up.

Open up.

Receive more of Him with gentle intention.

Go.

April 25, 2016 possibilities

Standard

“I had only heard about you before, but now I have seen you with my own eyes.” Job‬ ‭42:5‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Good morning, God’s Child.

Woke up thinking about the courage it takes to get to know your soul in the Light of our Creator. Courage … because once you and I begin to engage Him in every part of our lives, and live according to His authority – His light comes to call with ever more frequency until He becomes threaded into every part of our being. He amazes like that – showing up with possibility and perspective.

The more you become aware of His involvement, the more likely you are to see His call on your life, your days, your hours, your thoughts, your ideas. On the surface, things are seldom what they seem. There is always a deeper work going on that the human eye cannot see, but the heart knows. The heart knows.

Possibility sparks.

Takes root.

Empowers.

Once you become aware of His call on you, on every part of you, then facing His call requires courage. His possibilities are endless. He lays them all out and as you walk with Him, you discover more, and more, and more.

His ways are right, Beloved.

His possibilities are planted for purpose. His and yours. Do not take them lightly.

Wake up.
Live in possibility.

Go.

“Lord God of Hosts, who is strong like You, Lord? Your faithfulness surrounds You. You rule the raging sea; when its waves surge, You still them.” Psalms‬ ‭89:8-9‬ ‭HCSB‬‬
Hello, MightyOne,

Years ago I made a list of my life’s years and wrote down the best and most significant event I could remember of each year. It was humbling. Looking back over the list, I was struck by the fact that nearly everything on the list had turned out for my good, yet was directly or indirectly the result of some failure, or loss, or disappointment that made me look at my situation differently. In hind site, nearly everything that I considered at the time to be loss turned out to be the loss of an old way of life that was in process of gaining something new. It seemed at the time of each juncture, that my God was out of the picture, nowhere to be found, far, far away … when actually, He was closer than ever … just simply coming in from a different direction. Unexpected. The emptiness of the time was an emptying of old patterns and habits and trains of thought that He used for me to see that the road I was on was no longer working to serve Him.

He revealed new.

Directions.

Revelations.

Opportunities.

He gave new guidance to yield more promising results. And, He developed in me a sense of trust, deeper than ever, that sealed in His boldness and empowerment to follow Him into uncharted territory.

I still add to that list every single year. And, His work in our lives still comes from every possible surprising direction. He blows my mind. His faithfulness overwhelms me.
Wake up.

He’s closer than you think.

Be bolder.

Go.

April 20, 2016 make room

Standard

“Better a day in Your courts than a thousand anywhere else. I would rather be at the door of the house of my God than to live in the tents of wicked people.” Psalms‬ ‭84:10‬ ‭HCSB‬

Thankful, Dearheart –

The enemy wants to keep you and me tangled up in fear. Your Creator, however has the upper hand. He guides. He reminds us, “My child, when you make room for Me – you can’t lose.”

When you make room for Him, He will not deny Himself from you.

Fear is simply the enemy’s seeds of

helter-skelter,

rapid-fire,

uncontrolled,

insidious,

brain-bustling,

chaotic thinking that the Maker of The Universe, your Creator who loves you doesn’t know what He is doing …

can’t be trusted …

that His love is not enough to sustain you.

Do not give in to that.

Do not.

Make room.

Go right back into the presence of The Divine.

Because, no matter how you show up, no matter what mess you have created, no matter the failures of your past … you can’t lose when you show up in His presence.

You can’t lose with your Creator by your side.

The very second you choose to make room for Him, your help is on its way.

Wake up.

Make room.

Go.

April 19, 2016 show

Standard

“But the fruit of the Spirit is love,” Galatians‬ ‭5:22‬ ‭HCSB‬‬

It’s a new day to show up, Dearheart.

We forget.

You and I are love in motion.

Behind the door.

Behind the desk.

Behind the counter.

Behind the wheel.

Behind the gears.

Behind the skillet.

Behind the screen.

Behind the control box.

Behind the scalpel.

Behind the blue pad.

Behind the mop.

If we fail to show up we fail to demonstrate love … we miss an opportunity to share the active presence of God.

In His presence, balance, peace, order is revealed. Life is unleashed in a purposeful event.

Instead of “get me out of this mess”, ask, “show me how to infuse this with love”.

Instead of “look what they said about me”, “did to me”, “did to my car”, “did to my life”, say this instead:

“Look at what they did to my love”. Call forth the Spirit of Love in every thought and action.

Showing up means we have accepted the invitation from the Holy One, and we offer an invitation back to Him to open our souls and reveal more of Him in our hours.

Wake up.

Choose to show up.

Go.

April 13, 2016 brace yourself

Standard

“I pray to GOD —my life a prayer— and wait for what he’ll say and do. My life’s on the line before God, my Lord, waiting and watching till morning, waiting and watching till morning.” Psalm‬ ‭130:5-6‬ ‭MSG‬‬

Good morning, SustainedOne,

Perhaps the question equally as powerful as “what would Jesus do” … maybe even bolder, still …

definitely powerfully pointed,

highly personal …

is this:

“Father, put yourself in my shoes. Now, from my view will you show me my next move?”

If you want to get clear, make it highly personal – “what would You do if you were me?” Intimacy.

Beyond being polite,

politically correct,

gullible or vulnerable

 – just simple,

blatant honesty.

Because, when that shift happens, and you realize He takes on the fullness of your history, your crisis, your adventure, your joys, your questions, then … you slip into a unique romance with your Maker – you take on His history as well. One on one. You and me, God. It’s You and me.

It’s a trust-shift. No more coddling God. He has now become straight-up transparent. And, your ability to hear Him just jumped up a mountain of decibels.

Need an answer?

“So, Father, what would you do if you were me?”

Wake up.

Brace yourself.

Go.

April 12, 2016 forgiveness

Standard

“…Jesus bent down and wrote with his finger in the dirt. They kept at him, badgering him. He straightened up and said, “The sinless one among you, go first: Throw the stone.” Bending down again, he wrote some more in the dirt. Hearing that, they walked away, one after another, beginning with the oldest. The woman was left alone. Jesus stood up and spoke to her. “Woman, where are they? Does no one condemn you?”

“No one, Master.” “Neither do I,” said Jesus. “Go on your way. From now on, don’t sin.””

‭‭John‬ ‭8:9-11‬ ‭MSG‬‬
Good morning, ForgivenOne,

To what pain are you holding too white-knuckles tightly? Consider your healing.

Forgiveness is a deeply intense acceptance of the fullness of your Savior’s power in your life.

Forgiveness is a totally profound acceptance that we are ‘all love’ in the eyes of our Father. You. Me. Even the one who has hurt you. Maimed your heart. Told lies about you. Abused you. Forgiveness.

Forgiveness is honoring the light of the Holy Spirit in ourselves and in the children of God Most High.

Forgiveness is the moment we let His unfailing love be our source of power. Source of life. Source of life … source of life.

Forgiveness is the “welcome home” to His peace. It is the innermost vision that ‘God’s got this’ for you. The more pain, the more He’s working on your behalf.

Forgiveness is a celebration. Angels dance with delight.

Forgiveness is recalling our innocence. It is loving ourselves enough not to accept bad behavior.

Forgiveness is when someone else’s errors and the pain they brought no longer affect our happiness.

Forgiveness is opening – wide open – further still – to my Father’s love that is ever present. Further still.

Forgiveness neutralizes the poison left within and initiates healing.

Forgiveness reminds us that even when we get hurt, it is temporary. When we forgive, we move on.

We choose to be shifted when we accept the Creator’s touch … allowing ourselves to feel Him … as His hands cradle a tear-stained face. His gaze transforms, and soothes with love … in its purest state. He says, “No hurt can ever tarnish your soul, My child. That belongs to Me alone.”

Yes, it does … His gaze transforms.
Wake up.

Choose. Feel His gaze.

Go.

April 11, 2015 wash

Standard

“GOD said, “My presence will go with you. I’ll see the journey to the end.” Exodus‬ ‭33:14‬ ‭MSG‬‬

Rain. What an incredible gift to begin a new day. It’s a clever reminder of His presence-of being washed in the grace of a new day, a brand new week.

There is no place more safe to be than in your own skin, DearOne, loved by your Creator … held by God Most High. Just simply, easily pausing in His presence. This body … this skin is your earthly home to your soul … in your mind, see your Maker’s very bright light above your head. Let His holiness wash down over you, like rain,

over your head,

your shoulders,

down your back,

arms,

and legs.

You are allowing His light to wash through every cell, every major organ of your body. His light holds you in safety as He releases

every block,

every negative thought,

and every bitter expression.

He prepares you for gratitude. He loosens up the darkest areas for release. He created the universe from nothing, therefore, you can trust Him completely to give you all the controls you need to release any harmful thought, or pattern, or habit. He allows you to bring the gift of gratitude, and forgiveness, and compassion, and joy home to your heart.

Wake up.

Pause in His presence.

Go.

“And you, your lives must be totally obedient to GOD, our personal God, following the life path He has cleared, alert and attentive to everything He has made plain this day.”

‭‭1 Kings‬ ‭8:59-61‬ ‭MSG‬‬

Good morning, DevotedOne.

My dad’s folks were collectors. On one of their flea market whims they took a liking to clocks. Pop Coon gave me their cuckoo clock when I was about 12, and I proudly hung it in my bedroom. It drove the rest of my family NUTS – but I loved that thing.

You know, it is true … you really can’t please everybody.

Until you recognize that

and accept that, then you will remain stuck.

Guess what, not even God pleases everybody. (Whaaaat?!)

Think about it. . .

was everyone on earth overjoyed to

share the lake,

or the fish,

or a drink of water,

or a meal with Jesus?

So, it is foolish – if God can’t even do that, to hope that you and I can do that.

But, here is the gamechanger: God said “this is my beloved son in whom I am well pleased.”

Jesus knew who he was.

His father told him.

His Father has told you and me the same thing.

Here’s the deal. If you don’t know who you are, then you will hear criticism and cave into it because you want to be liked by everyone. So if they want you to do something, you will follow just to be liked. You will cave into the wrong kind of competition … and think just because somebody else is running 100 mph then you must run 100 mph, but you are not built to run 100 mph like them.

And, if you are not careful … then you will wear yourself out and fall short of the goal.

But when you understand:

this is me,

I am God’s,

this is my lane,

this is my goal,

then the competition field becomes a field of one. You.

You can encourage a thousand people, and I can encourage only four.

In order to have peace with that, and not get trapped in ‘comparison complex’ that spins you around and keeps you tangled up in your shorts, you must:

-release the pressure-.

You do that by identifying Who you are aiming to please.

I’m not doing this for you. I am doing it for my God,

my Creator,

the One who loves me.

I will always fall short in your book.

But as long as I am following Him with everything in me, then I will always be right on target.

Wake up.

Define your field.

Stop the comparison.

Go.
