There’s a thought out and about that strength is all about stoic appearances, playing like nothing matters and pretending resilience. But thats a myth. Survival for us – on this skin side of eternity – requires softness and rest. And, if we do not plan, allocate, and follow through sufficient time for healing we will find that in the future we are dismantled by even the most trivial of hardships. Your Savior allows you, in perfect proportion, rest. It is here that He recharges your heart. That is not selfishness, that is sold-out surrender. That is what gives us the strength and the courage to keep our eyes so steadfastly focused on Him that any plot of the enemy gets dismantled in God’s way, in God’s time … with the elegance of God’s overwhelming kindness.
If I can lift you in prayer, DearHeart, please send me a private messenge. Remember, to reap God’s best in your life, you must give Him your best – stop allowing your eyes to run all over, and moment by moment … with steady, intentional focus start running TO Him. He is ready to unlock doors that have been locked shut, and sealed to you. He is waiting for you to show up with the request. Ask. Keep asking. Be ready to follow His lead.
“Keep vigilant watch over your heart; that’s where life starts. Don’t talk out of both sides of your mouth; avoid careless banter, white lies, and gossip. Keep your eyes straight ahead; ignore all sideshow distractions. Watch your step, and the road will stretch out smooth before you. Look neither right nor left; leave evil in the dust.” Proverbs 4:23-27 MSG
Wake up.
Focus steady.
