Good morning, DearHeart.
Are you searching for God’s wisdom in a situation this Monday morning? Can you see yourself as an agent of peace here? We live in such a divided society. As I listen to the news and read the headlines, it seems to me there are factions everywhere and the gap gets hotter and wider every day. Let me remind you that “God is not a God of confusion but of peace.” 1 Corinthians 14:33 ESV
I was reading Acts 19: 33-41, where the crowd was getting angrier and in a sense, “demonstrating”. They wanted Paul’s preaching to be stopped because it was hurting their business. As people came to hear the Gospel, they were no longer purchasing the idols the artisans were making. Interesting enough, the mayor steps in and addresses the crowd. He reasons with them, logically laying out for them why Paul and the others had done nothing wrong.
We must be careful not to think with the crowd without taking time to think a matter through logically. We can be easily convinced by a crowd. Emotions can run high and strong. Let’s be the voice of reason, because in the moments that we are not surrendered to love, we are bound by fear. Love draws on wisdom from God as we weigh a matter. If we fail to consciously and proactively call down the Light, then we dwell in darkness. And it is light, not darkness for which our spirit yearns. Let’s be agents of peace where there is discord.
Wake up.
Call down Light.
Go.
