January 24, 2018 new page

“The faithful love of the Lord never ends! His mercies never cease. Great is his faithfulness; his mercies begin afresh each morning.”

Lamentations 3:22-23 NLT

Gosh. I so love mornings, DearOne.

The offering up of a brand new start, free for the taking.

A gift.

No matter what yesterday or all the yesterday’s held, a fresh and open heart awaits to take us on the journey of a new day.

Ask any sold-out, God-loving professional or expert

or athlete

or wise old soul

or huge project manager

or dedicated foster parents

or elite performer …

how does success maintain a steady drum for you? They’ll tell you, they never take their expertise for granite.

Their senses stay awake. Building. Expecting. They pull out what worked from yesterday’s old material to use as a springboard for this new day. Then they give it all over to their Creator, allow Him to move in them, show them.

Your page is white and crisp and ready, DearHeart.

This minute. Clean slate.

Partner up with your Maker.

Then listen for new info.

Begin to tell your story in a fresh way.

Give the next kiss like it is your first kiss.

Sluff off old assumptions and plow right in. With gusto.

The enemy is trying to shut you down. But, you control any performance anxiety, and we all have it … so, work it in your favor to meet God’s best for you head-on. He is already there.

Wake up.

Accept your clean slate.

January 22, 2018 sincere

Pray for rain, y’all; and good morning, BrightStar.

I forget. You forget this, too – you are so much more than you think you are. You can do so much more than you think you can.

“The Spirit of GOD, the Master, is on me because GOD anointed me.

He sent me to preach good news to the poor,

heal the heartbroken,

announce freedom to all captives,

pardon all prisoners.

GOD sent me to announce the year of his grace—

a celebration of God’s destruction of our enemies—

and to comfort all who mourn,

to care for the needs of all who mourn in Zion,

give them bouquets of roses instead of ashes,

messages of joy instead of news of doom,

a praising heart instead of a languid spirit.”

Isaiah 61:1-3 MSG

Step aside with me for a moment … step away from your Monday morning to-do list, DearOne. See yourself as a small child and watch yourself grow into who you are today. Give thanks for all the challenges you have overcome to get to this day. Feel the immense love of our Father who has raised you through every parched season. In sincerity, forgive yourself for your human faults and bad decisions. Allow space between your thoughts for growing … learning space … and space to notice that in forgiving the past you deeply feel your anointing by God Himself.

God Almighty.

God Most High.

God of the Universe.

The God who loves you.

The God who is for you and not against you.

Let His light cover you and empty you, and now refill you.

Bathe in His light for a moment. His light is your light. Open your eyes and see every part of your world brightened by His love passing across your heart.

Wake up.

You are so much more than you think you are.

January 16, 2017 send the blessing

Good morning, BlessedOne,

You have been blessed by God Most High.

Pass that blessing on to another.

Who comes to mind this morning? … who needs to be set apart for a blessing?

What project or activity or or journey is weighing heavy, calling, calling with need to be blessed?

We shrink in dread, choose to bless, instead.

Our people, our places, our things – they are sacred because we say they are. You choose what gets set apart. By setting apart those for a blessing, the solutions scale ramps way up.

Enter in to blessing mode –

you don’t have to be ordained,

or certified,

or licensed to do so.

Simply call on your Savior. He powers your light to drop in and reconnect life and hope in those places where apathy and aloofness and bummed have become the norm.

Bless your people,

your haters,

that software system,

road trip,

Bless the payment you make,

the broom you push,

the air you get to breathe.

Bless your boss,

your brother,

your pastor,

that dog that barked all night.

Choose who and what. Make a face to face bridge in your mind, touch a photo, maybe trace a heart with your finger … or a feather … feel the light of Your Spirit going out from you and entering in. Holy. Divine.

I’m pointing my heart toward you now, leaning in – may everyone see His Light there, and like what they see.

Wake up. Deliver. Go

“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places,” Ephesians 1:3

January 8, 2017 chickens

Good Morn, Dearheart.

There’s no crowing this morn. Our chickens died. Most likely a coyote … late in the evening before we gathered the eggs and closed them up for the night. We have two left that are skittish and scared and won’t lay for a while. Their norm has been shattered.

Out here in the country, we stay so close to life and so close to death. Living this close to nature is a package deal. Even though we don’t like part of the package, we have to accept it. We know we will be dealing with death if we are fortunate to experience to irreplaceable beauty of life.

Most animals, wild or tame or human, set into daily routines, and often we find ourselves looking for their pattern as markers for our day’s routine, too. Especially, here on the farm. Then, one day those living things are gone and the routine changes again.

Time happens and we can’t bring the losses back. But, even when loss is so great that it shatters your world, we learn so much of the kind nature of our God in the process. As we accept, recover, process, and help heal those that deal with loss we learn. And, it is with kindness we allow His nature to soar through us to teach others to handle the nasty twinges, the tightness in your gut, and the tears that threaten in the corner of your eyes.

I just wonder, though, if sometimes, others are not able to come to terms with His kindness in you because they haven’t been able to come to terms with the kindness in their own heart. I believe even the most hardened heart has some deep kindness left … waiting for release. Fear and bitterness have been allowed free reign in the landscape of their being for so long that they accept hurting as daily living. The pain they feel feeds off of itself and gets dished out to others in heaps of ugly … an endless cycle. Their brokenness delivers a continuous feed of heartbreak.

A reckoning must come for them to finally allow themselves to say “yes” to the call of the Holy.

“Yes”, to His kindness.

“Yes”, to His salvation.

“Yes”, to eternity He offers.

How are you receiving and delivering His Holy kindness these days?

“For everything there is a season, a time for every activity under heaven. A time to be born and a time to die. A time to plant and a time to harvest. A time to kill and a time to heal. A time to tear down and a time to build up. A time to cry and a time to laugh. A time to grieve and a time to dance.” Ecclesiastes 3:1-4 NLT

Wake up.

Notice kindness.

January 5, 2017 cabins

“He stilled the storm to a murmur, and the waves of the sea were hushed. They rejoiced when the waves grew quiet. Then He guided them to the harbor they longed for.” Psalms 107:29-30 HCSB

Take a deeper breath, DearOne,

Fall deeply within your heart and picture yourself crossing a bridge over a creek to enter into an old farm cabin that sits just behind your heart… once you cross over, you look back and the bridge is gone and there is only silence. A deep and pure quiet wraps you as you step into the cabin. There’s a glowing flame in fireplace and a chair and quilt nearby beckons you to sit. Stay.

You hear a voice that quiets you deeper still and you know that you are with God. In the silence your Creator says, “I have been waiting a long time to be with you in this silence.”

Imagine the embrace of the Divine as You feel Him say “My child, I have a question for you – and it will change your life.” And deep from within God says -“what have I given you in this life that is too much to carry? – tell me what I have given you that is too much to carry and give it back to me…release it to me… release it to me.”

The God Most High says “I place my hand on your head, My Child, and the Grace of God and heaven go through you and release the diseases that assault your body, the suffering that assaults your heart, the grief that grips your soul, the pain that plunders your body. Now feel the grace from heaven consuming you from the inside out and surrender it all – simply let it go.

God, grant me the grace of awe and honor for my life so that I may be grateful I am alive.

God, allow me the grace of reverence so that I see every human being as Your child.

Grant me extraordinary understanding so that I can see beauty and truth in my relationships with others.

Grant me the grace of fortitude so that I have the mettle to answer when you call my name.

God, give me the grace of Your wise counsel so that I can hear you when you guide me.

Pour into me the grace of knowledge to understand the higher meaning of things.

Download into me the wisdom to see clearly the choices I need to make.

Let nothing, Father, disturb the silence of peace in my heart.

In the holy and precious name of Jesus, I ask Your river of calm to flow through me. Amen.

Wake up.

Meet with Him.

January 2, 2018 calm and still

Good morning, Beloved.

Very often it happens … a mental gymnastics competition of, “if I do x, then I’ll be a better person.”

It is a big trap, so at some point, I decided to just do what was in front of me taking care of all the things that simply could not wait, and accepting that there is only so much I can do in a day and that’s really ok.

Instead of beating myself up and generating more and more energy to do it all, then beat myself up for not meeting the expectations of others, I have made small decisions each day to do what needs to get done and then to rest.

My mindset is on simply meeting the expectations of my Maker.

It takes some trust to rest. The world screams and attacks and goes on without us and we worry we will miss something, or not be on top of our game, or people will forget us and we will be out of the loop. It’s not easy to stop pushing, pushing, pushing, and to stop saying over and over how busy we are. (Have you ever noticed, it is actually so boring to hear that people are busy. It doesn’t really tell you anything specific about them or where they are at anyway. Mostly it just keeps people out. Walls.)

So, that’s where I’ve been. Accepting my energetic limits and choosing other things besides being more wound up and stressed out.

I can feel the Holy at work and my energy gathering again. I can feel the edges of my eyes softening again … a certain ease flowing in my veins and muscles. Stressed out is not our natural state you know.

Our Savior never wanted us to live life hard and hardened, but, soft and relaxed, so we can hear Him and be filled with His power and energy to glorify Him in all we do. When He needs us to step it up, He provides the resources and the lead.

To hear The Voice of the Almighty, we only need to choose stillness …and, sometimes, that is choosing to stop in the midst of the motion.

Obligation and expectation often hijacks that inner knowing.

As we move into this new year, it’s a perfect time to listen to the inner voice of Holy Spirit. And, you know what? It always comes in the form of a whisper.

“You set the mountains in place by your strength, showing your mighty power. You calm the roar of the seas and the noise of the waves; you calm the uproar of the peoples.” Psalm 65:6-7 GNT

Wake up.

Get still.

Hear His whisper.

January 1, 2018 set your gaze

“GOD is striding ahead of you. He’s right there with you. He won’t let you down; He won’t leave you. Don’t be intimidated. Don’t worry.” Deuteronomy 31:8 Msg

Good day for a fresh start, Dearheart.

Start where you are.

That’s progress. And, purpose.

Start here. Now.

Even if this is one of those days when you feel anxiety rising – redirect the anxiety into anticipation and excitement.

You know that tingling feeling of the Holy Spirit that you get when you’re listening to someone who inspires you to your core? Maybe it happens when you’re with a friend or mentor, or listening to a keynote at an event. Afterwards you feel on fire for days, maybe even weeks. You go into super-productivity mode because you want to make big things happen for yourself and your loves. I live for that feeling. That feeling is what fuels my relationships.

My career.

Our farming and businesses.

That’s why I surround myself with amazing people who keep me filled up with passion, inspiration, strength.

I know following Him will light a spark in you that ignites a blazing fire. I know that if God Most High leads you and me to it, He will stay right in front just a few feet where my gaze and your gaze can settle on Him. He will part the drowning waters, walking us across on dry and safe land. Look at us, you and me, we have a sure and steady history with Him. We can trust Him with this new year, too.

Here we go, 2018.

Wake up.

Set your gaze on Him.
