I was asked how I stay in His presence, and grounded, and focused? Hmmm … from that first waking moment, a story of the night’s dreams surface … across the day to the last low prayer of thanks before sleep comes again that night, I measure the choices before me against one question:
Will this choice bring me closer to my Creator?
Further still, from this choice, will gaps fold into greater wholeness with my Father?
Alignment?
Consistency?
Agreement?
Or, take me further away from Him?
The choices I make each day emerge from this profound commitment to loyalty. It becomes, over time, a habit. He becomes a habit.
Wholeness speaks through my heart’s deepest desires; through the wild, clear call of my soul; through the patient wisdom of my body. Yours, too.
So, I listen — for what is being asked of me by my God and by my world. Then, I listen for my heart’s true response.
So, today, I extend my love, appreciation, and blessing to everything I encounter — The Almighty, to my own body, feelings, desires and needs; to the air I breathe; the quiet place here, in which I sit to write; and to the intimacy of our relationship — you and me, sacred strumming from heart-to-heart through these words.
It is not by accident that we share this time together.
‘My counsel for you is simple and straightforward: Just go ahead with what you’ve been given. You received Christ Jesus, the Master; now live him. You’re deeply rooted in him. You’re well constructed upon him. You know your way around the faith. Now do what you’ve been taught. School’s out; quit studying the subject and start living it! And let your living spill over into thanksgiving.” Colossians 2:6-7 MSG
Wake up.
Live loyal.
