“Then He said, “Go out and stand on the mountain in the Lord’s presence.” At that moment, the Lord passed by. A great and mighty wind was tearing at the mountains and was shattering cliffs before the Lord, but the Lord was not in the wind. After the wind there was an earthquake, but the Lord was not in the earthquake. After the earthquake there was a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire. And after the fire there was a voice, a soft whisper.” 1 Kings 19:11-12 HCSB
Good morning, BeautifulSoul.
So yeah, Like Elijah, there are times we all feel abandon by God.
Where are You, Lord?
What has happened here?
If you feel there’s something missing … empty, alone, puzzled, yes. You are right.
There is grief that gets planted in the chambers of aching hearts. It is there to draw you ever back in to His promises.
There are a thousand blooms that live in a tiny seed of hope, even when it feels like an earthquake is tumbling all around you, DearOne. In every olive branch extended from a heart of love, a sweeping fire heats up, and scatters ashes to the winds … except for that single spark of hope that is left behind … hope pressing against your ribs and pounding through your bloodstream. It is not the fury of a shiver – but a song we hear from the Maker of the Universe … a spark to draw us in to Him.
You can already hear His song, you know it is there, you can’t even begin to hum it quite yet … but, it hums you with every breath.
It is the song you came to sing … like Elijah’s … ‘after the fire, there was a voice, a soft whisper.’
It is in the whisper that the Spirit of the Almighty carries you, rises in you, flows from you.
Wake up.
Hum, Holy Spirit, rise.
