“Remember this, my dear brothers and sisters! Everyone must be quick to listen, but slow to speak and slow to become angry. Human anger does not achieve God’s righteous purpose.” James 1:19-20 GNB
Good morning GentleHeart,
Does anger drive your life?
Mismanaged anger is dangerous. It causes wrecks, drives people away, and destroys the ability to be at peace.
Anger is the quick and easy response. Unchecked, it takes over in a heartbeat.
And, it is a teacher. There is a difference in carrying it around for a lifetime and bleeding it out into the generations that follow, or stirring it around with a stick to see what growth and healing can come from it.
Grow or die? Every day we are doing one or the other. God Most High, as our Master teacher, is our miracle worker. And, His expectation is that we be a worker towards healing for others. Christ got angry … always with the right person, to the right measure, for a right purpose, in a right way – to bring growth and healing.
Growth occurs the instant light breaks through and we gain a new insight.
Yesterday is overrated and gone. From here forward is the only thing we’ve got. The only painful events that truly matter are the ones we nurture and carry with us.
Life hurts when we get hit by something unexpected. It hurts when we blame other for our bad choices. It hurts when bad things happen.
Christ’s wisdom for you and me is simple-forward momentum for today is to get over it and move on.
Wake up.
Move on.
Go.
