“I love those who love me, and those who search for me find me.” Proverbs 8:17 HCSB
Good morning, God’s Child!
My friend said, “yeah, I’ve been back and forth, up and down, super close and far away from God. I’ve listened to every kind of spiritual self-help you can imagine since I was in high school.” And, grinned. Something in her words seemed kind of sheepish, chin down, eyes fell. I’ve seen the look before: shame, as if confessing HIV/AIDS, all because she thrived on searching and coming back to what she knows to be true: God’s presence.
It’s crazy to me that in our day and time there is a stigma about spiritual growth – as if you are weak because your choose to explore, feel, and stumble into grace.
All I knew to say is exactly what was pouring from my heart, to her at the time, as well as to you right now . . . “days get tough – I’m so proud of you for coming back to your home-place with our Savior no matter what.”
Something in you and me looks for Him and longs for Him all of the days of our lives. We know – innately know, it’s in our DNA, you have always known you are here with purpose, love, and supernaturalness in your pocket. Something in you and me refuses to settle for anything less than the Genius of our soul. There’s a reason it feels good to hear that its ok to keep coming back. There’s a reason it feels good to hear that it is alright to keep searching. It’s because it is true. It’s because when you choose to search, you will find.
Wake up. Search again. Go.
