I can’t speak to how your mind works, but may I be so bold as to just ask you to consider this:
what if, that worst-case-scenario of which you have convinced yourself is true, is not true at all?

What if I am allowing my mind to dwell with a dark concern that has not, and will not happen? This has the mark of the enemy written all over it – he loves to steal joy. He lives to replace love with fear and mistrust.

What if the energy and words I may have applied toward disgust, and fear, and worry turns out to be needless, self-inflicted pain?
What if the opposite of my expectation happens?
The opposite.
The opposite.
Have you been harmed? Or, are you harming yourself by embracing the role of “victim”, and playing the role with all your power? What if the expression of your fears are levying an influence on other precious souls to build up hatred in them, too? Is bitterness the mark you want to leave behind? Perhaps, the self-imposed walls have already been locked in place.
You hold the power to drop them, or not.

Perhaps, dropping walls and embracing gratitude is your answer.

-You choose whether or not to show up. With a heart of gratitude, choose to arrive.
-You choose whether or not to connect. With a heart of gratitude, choose to unite.
-You choose whether or not to let go. With a heart of gratitude, choose to move on.

The kind of heritage you leave comes from every decision you make from this point forward:
your feelings,
your attitude,
your vibes,
your relationships,
your destiny.
It’s all about your perspective.
It’s all about your decisions.
You are responsible for your choices.
No one else. Only you.
Choose perspective wisely.
Choose Godly perspective.
Choose to ask God Most High to impart His wisdom on you.
Then, choose wisdom.
Choose your influences.
Choose your legacy.

My grandparents lived on Cobb creek where we, my muddy-shoed brothers, and cousins, and I, ran amuck. They had a five acre garden and lots of dogs and chickens and horses and hogs. I thought it was heaven. Then, I grew up and began a slogging departure that routed me into other people’s expectations of who I should be. Then, I got over that 😉, and am on a trek of just simply being God’s child.
In our Mom and Pop’s bathroom, in that house on the creek, on the wall across from the toilet, across from the vanity where she kept her Chantilly powder with the big pink puff, was this plaque of the Serenity Prayer. I bet it’s placement was no accident. I hadn’t really noticed it as hanging in my psyche, but, come to think of it, it comes to mind almost daily. (Thank you, Mom and Pop Reinking)!

God, grant me the serenity,
to accept the things I cannot change,
the courage to change the things I can,
And, the wisdom to know the difference.

Wake up.
