What’s your skill, TalentedOne?
True story. About 5-6 years ago our son, Bryan, brought a little lass out to meet us. In pure “mom-mode”, I started up small talk to get to know this little chickee . . . early on, I asked … “so, Dani, do you know what you’d like to do someday when you get out of school?” With every ounce of sold-out certainty, she looked right at me with no hesitation at all and declared:
“I want to be a tattoo artist.”
I hate like everything to admit this, but to this day, the place where I fell through the floor is still shining slick. (sigh). Not at all the answer I expected from someone with aspirations to date one of my sons! Thank God, we can laugh about it now!
Y’all, God knows His stuff. He knew what He was doing then, He knows still.
We have watched her escalate into her own as a savvy force of nature. She vibes with talent that infuses her sassy warmth and friendliness with a highly personalized stamp of creative intelligence. Her artistry is a special kind of problem solving . . . she’s not just doing it, it is her being. She has a state of mind that takes in the world and transforms it, then invests back into it with meaning through a unique, steely muscle of sensitivity to her artistic skills. And, she loves Jesus.
She is also the only lady I know that is as crazy about our Bryan as his grandmothers and me have been 😉
Shout-out to our Dani Gayle Reynolds today as she is honored with a reception this evening as a featured student artist at Northern Oklahoma College’s Hayes Art Gallery. Dale, Holly, Levi, Luke, Bry, and I could not be more proud of her dazzling and precious soul!
‘For this reason I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God, which is in you through the laying on of my hands, for God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.’ (2 Timothy 1:6-7 ESV)
Wake up. Fan the flames! Go.
