March 27, 2015 unlock

‘In the evening of that first day of the week, the disciples were gathered together with the doors locked because of their fear of the Jews. Then Jesus came, stood among them, and said to them, “Peace to you! ” (‭John‬ ‭20‬:‭19‬ HCSB)

Fantastic Friday to you, ListeningOne!
Do you know how to combat self pity?

You list your blessings. You start praising God for all that you have to be thankful for. You say, this “no” is yielding me to a greater “yes”;  the evidence is in all the blessings that flood in when you take your day’s first waking breath. Set your mind, DearHeart.
Now, as you select the songs you hear today, listen to the sounds of the voices. Listen to the instruments as they beat … sway … weep. Listen for the purity and the innocence of the calypso in the familiar notes – that sound – the one you hear brand new – let it unlock a place in you … a place you thought was locked down good and tight forever.
The Spirit of the Most High God is preparing this wildish-child in you for something very important. He has looked at you closely and loved you pure for what he saw. It is kingdom work. You don’t need to know what it is yet, for now, you just need to unlock the space for it to grow.
Wake up.

Blessed with the crazy notion, the wild-eyed foolishness, and the madcap belief in the simple idea that I might help one to make a decision that makes a difference in the world . . . as stated by Ralph Waldo Emerson’s famous quote…“To know one life breathed easier because you lived, this is to have succeeded.” I get to use my small business background as a former owner of a Flower Shop and Hallmark Store and former co-owner of Disability Specialists, LLC, to help folks build dreams. I hold a M.Ed with emphasis on Adult Training and Education. I’d love to get my Doctorate in Educational Leadership . . . someday. My work centers on the belief that inside each of us lives a mesmerizing soul waiting to be revealed. Every day we can choose to trust the magic of our calling and take those unconventional moves to unlock an enchanted journey.
