‘I will show you what someone is like who comes to Me, hears My words, and acts on them: He is like a man building a house, who dug deep and laid the foundation on the rock. When the flood came, the river crashed against that house and couldn’t shake it, because it was well built.’ (Luke 6:47-48 HCSB)
DearOne,
Do you have storm experiences that remain etched on your heart? One of my dearest friends is laying her dad’s body to rest today. Their family has weathered their share of storms (physically, spiritually, emotionally, and very literally as we have shared bleachers through every possible kind of Oklahoma weather!). As I was reading this morning, my thoughts kept beating back to this verse, it so reminds me of her dad who nurtured so deep a foundation.
We have choices on what we bring to life in our minutes from the depths of our Godly foundations –
oh, that we may draw deeper still and choose to fill each day sharing the fullness of the love of our Heavenly Father.
Jesus presence has healed me,
given me comfort,
He guides my steps,
and leads me to truth.
It is for this reason that He has come, not just for you and me, but for the whole world – that we may know peace when the high winds come, so that we may come to know the Holy Spirit that dwells within us and who seeks to be known in the world through our own giftedness and call.
In His foundation, there is no shaky ground.
Wake up.
Choose deeply.
Go.
