’So let’s do it—full of belief, confident that we’re presentable inside and out. Let’s keep a firm grip on the promises that keep us going. He always keeps his word. Let’s see how inventive we can be in encouraging love and helping out, not avoiding worshiping together as some do but spurring each other on, especially as we see the big Day approaching.’ (Hebrews 10:22-25 MSG)
Good morning, ConfidentOne,
My youngest son, Luke, and his team are in state basketball playoffs. Our HS ladies team is also winning their way through the tournament. Our town has a population of about 600 in rural Oklahoma. This is a big deal.
These two teams are a sweet sight to watch play. There is precision, yet lightness; perpetual movement, yet fierce groundedness when teams play well.
I am most fascinated by what it takes to stay focused in each game in spite of all the hype that is going on around them. They are learning to surrender to the coaching that will help them be all that they can be. Cooperation and coordination and the willingness to react to the one on the court with the skills for the ever-changing situation at hand takes time together. Each player’s impact is multiplied when they work together. I am, of course, linking their finesse on the court to life’s bigger game … eternity, survival and evolution of the soul.
Hearing the God of the Angel Armies amid the hype and chaos and even in the boredom that comes in everyday life means one must make intentional effort. Time together. The whistle blows, the Master back fills the empty, unproductive places with replenishing change – necessary change. He is the provider of constant interplays, constant discards, constant replacement of ideas, constant get-back-out-there, constant fueling, constant boldness, constant courage, constant direction, constant energies.
Without the consistent, fueling, direction of Father God, the undisciplined one puddles into havoc.
Open up your senses in your minutes to the consistent prompting of the Master on your life court. Start now.
Wake up. Open up. Go.
