‘Then he stretched himself out over the boy three times. He cried out to the Lord and said, “My Lord God, please let this boy’s life return to him! ” So the Lord listened to Elijah’s voice, and the boy’s life returned to him, and he lived. Then Elijah took the boy, brought him down from the upper room into the house, and gave him to his mother. Elijah said, “Look, your son is alive.” Then the woman said to Elijah, “Now I know you are a man of God and the Lord’s word from your mouth is true.” (1 Kings 17:21-24 HCSB)
Hi, Prayer-Warriors!
Our dad, Verle Coon, is in Oklahoma Heart Hospital where he is recovering from an emergency heart procedure following a chest-pain, nausea, classic heart-attack episode. The results revealed there are no closed veins or arteries. And, there is no new damage to his heart – so, it was not a heart attack and his bypasses are still open! Go figure!
There will be more tests and such to try to get his body functioning more efficiently.
This isn’t Dad’s first rodeo with heart attacks – by now he’s an experienced pro. He had all the signs and Mom got him to the Anadarko Emergency Room. He was then transported by our local EMT’s. Once again, both our hospital and emergency techs were professional, sensitive, and amazing. We are so thankful for them!
We asked for prayer for Dad all day and your response flooded him.
His heart issues were thwarted by Divine intervention. Pure and simple.
Our family is so blessed to have our extended families – our friends, co-workers, pastor, and church family.
Y’all, prayer works.
Do not take that lightly.
The God in you is the same God that worked in and through Elijah.
Prayer works.
Wake up.
Pray big, bold prayers.
Believe.
Go.
