June 12, 2014 seal

Hello PreciousOne,
You are here – claim it:
Christ before me.
Christ behind me.
Christ above me.
Christ below me.
Christ beside me.
Christ on my right side.
Christ on my left.
Hem me in.
Seal me, Lord.
Let me feel You.

There are life-waves that come in that shower us with loveliness. Then, there are waves that splatter sizzling, hot grease pain all around. This full-moon showed up holding hands with a cranky hurt wave for so many of my people.
So, what do you do when the pain waves get nasty. When you are fighting for your life to trust God, but … really … you’re not even sure if you will still be breathing when dawn breaks?
Quivering, you start hard-core praying the promises. You call out The Most High to deliver what He said He would:
“God, You said You would not leave me.
Come closer.
You said You’d not forsake me.
Let me feel Your arms.
You promised me peace that passes through my need to understand.
Soothe peace on me.
You said You are my Shield.
Shield me.”

Angelheart, when the task of just getting past the sobs seems overwhelming, when the pain lies open … and raw … and tender … and bleeding … and all the odds scream against you – those just may be the moments God has everything in total control. It’s just not real convenient for Him to let you in on it yet.
Pray on.
Claim on.

‘You know when I sit down and when I stand up; You understand my thoughts from far away.
You have encircled me; You have placed Your hand on me.
‘Where can I go to escape Your Spirit? Where can I flee from Your presence?
If I go up to heaven, You are there; if I make my bed in Sheol, You are there. If I live at the eastern horizon or settle at the western limits, even there Your hand will lead me; Your right hand will hold on to me.’ (Psalms 139:2, 5, 7-10 HCSB)

June 10, 2014 legalism

‘For you were called to be free, brothers; only don’t use this freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but serve one another through love. For the entire law is fulfilled in one statement: Love your neighbor as yourself. But if you bite and devour one another, watch out, or you will be consumed by one another.’ (Galatians 5:13-15 HCSB)
Welcome, Beloved of the Most High.
Stiff-necked legalism is poison. It drowns and destroys. By clinging to a harsh, legalistic mindset we become judgmental and critical of others. It turns us bitter, critical, and flat-out creepy. But, mostly, it blocks love from crashing in and moving us forward.
Satan fights to maintain control. He does not want anyone to come under the authority of the Holy Spirit. He blinds the eyes of the believers … never ending attacks.
Here is your relief, SweetOne, there is a certain rush of freedom that comes when we choose to live out love in our daily-grind hours. The only law you and I really need to get right is love. If we miss that mark, we’ve missed them all.
Wake up.
Love with excellence.

June 9, 2014 nuances

‘Surely You desire integrity in the inner self, and You teach me wisdom deep within. Purify me with hyssop, and I will be clean; wash me, and I will be whiter than snow.’ (Psalms 51:6, 7 HCSB)

Good morning, SweetSoul-
Things that make you go “hmmm”. You know, those choices we make in day to day, hour to hour routines? Well, those are the ones that shape us into one who is the real likeness of Jesus, or corrupt us into something we were never meant to become. These aren’t the biggie decisions that change the entire course of our entire life journey, but the small daily choices – that like a constant drip, drip, drip, either recast us in beauty or simply erode us.
I don’t know about you, but it’s a lot easier for me to make choices in the big things – I’m not as likely to be a thief as a glutton; and I’m not as likely to murder someone I don’t like as snub them.
The mark of being set apart as a child of the Divine is found in the daily living nuances and choices of our hours. It is around the minutes that our realness takes shape.
DearHeart, pay attention to your minute by minute choices. Ask your Creator for wisdom. Go.

June 6, 2014 wheat harvest

Good morning LovelyOne,
I am watching a lightening show out our front window.
Wheat farmers have been hustling to get their crops out before the rain. Our Oklahoma farmers are a unique breed. They have a daily fight with the odd habits of nature. And, oh the day-to-day energy it takes, physical, relentless energy, attention to detail, continuous character is required.
When the field turns golden, the farmer walks into it, examines the head to see if it’s grains are an empty hull or firm and meaty, good, fat kernels.
A good year yields grain that pours out slowly from the dump bed at the elevator as yellow rain. A good year swells a farmer’s heart with a rich, conquering pride. (Mmm. I can smell the harvests of my people’s fields from my childhood!)
When failure comes to a crop, it strikes at the very center of the man. Inferiority, uneasiness, discouragement, and a loathing sense of defeat.

‘the field is the world; and the good seed — these are the sons of the kingdom. The weeds are the sons of the evil one, and the enemy who sowed them is the Devil. The harvest is the end of the age, and the harvesters are angels. Therefore, just as the weeds are gathered and burned in the fire, so it will be at the end of the age.’ (Matthew 13:38-40 HCSB)

Are you just taking up space, like the weeds, and setting yourself up for defeat? Or, are you allowing the Harvester to grow you into full, productive health, nourishing others as you grow? Chew on that kernel a while today, DearOne.

June 5, 2014 time bombs

‘Fools have short fuses and explode all too quickly; the prudent quietly shrug off insults.’ (Proverbs 12:16 MSG)

Hello, Believer-
Every earthling’s background is a customized story. Our tendencies are toward what we know – learned behavior, passed down from one to another. Good, bad, ugly – sometimes there are too many filters that keep us bound up inside. For others, there are no filters at all.
The Holy Spirit in you and me changes the hurtful, evil, witchy, demon-filled nature. His ways clear the fog when satan uses one’s short fuse to lash out pain and insults on us.
If you have a deep scar, that is a door. If you yearn for an escape from your oppressor, that is a door.
If you are one of simple thoughts, or the ambitions of Niagara Falls, if you are trying to make it to the top, or make it through the day, whether you are colorful, or quiet, royalty, or mountain-man, the Holy Spirit belongs to you.
May we sing Him into our bones with every breath.

June 4, 2014 working

‘The Lord your God is in your midst, a mighty one who will save; he will rejoice over you with gladness; he will quiet you by his love; he will exult over you with loud singing.’ (Zephaniah 3:17 ESV)

A fresh mornin’ to ya, RestoredOne!
Occasionally, I hear the saying, “everyone you meet is facing a tough battle.” That’s always a wake-up reminder to me. Having spent a number of years trying to drag my sorry soul behind Jesus, I’ve discovered a treasure of surprising things. I’ve found that some believers, in spite of doing all the right things, still face difficulty and disappoints on their journey. They press on … not because they hope that sooner or later good things will turn the tide, but because they believe that God Most High is good and that He loves them and is working the good into their earthling life.
Dearheart, let Christ love you today. Curl up into the arms of the Holy Spirit. Tell Him you need Him.
Until you let Him serve you at your point of need, you will never be free to serve others. Souls are at stake. You must invite Him into your hurting places. Go.

June 3, 2014 face paint

‘Happy are the people whose strength is in You, whose hearts are set on pilgrimage.’ (Psalms 84:5 HCSB)

Pilgrimage. Long journey.
Hearts set on long journey.
Dearheart, here’s the deal: a farmer becomes a farmer when he looks out across the land and plans for crops. A runner becomes a runner when he takes his first jog. A tree is a real tree when it is still a little seed inside a pine cone.
You are meant to be a direct force, strong, effective. But, that part in you must be trained. All the myriad of slitty-eyed, evil forces clogs the thinking, locks your joints, crusts over fresh ideas, jams the pen and the brush. We rev up, only to be distract by “oh, well, maybe, tomorrow”. How many notes never get written, walls stand half-painted, scarves hide half-crocheted, all because the factory spews it’s poison and becomes habit.
Oh SweetOne, this is your day. It is an entirely personal, interior process with your Creator. You must be willing to engage your wildness to break away the chains – even though it might feel stone-stupid, like you’re sitting on top of a longhorn steer with emeralds spewing out of your mouth.
Fail if you must, it is ok.
But, nudge your way back onto your journey. Be intentional. Allow yourself to feel the pain of being transformed. Without pain, there is no progress. Let you fear jump out and bite you hard. It will pass. Paint your face.
Show your teeth.
Meet it head on.
Feel it.
Get it over with.
God Most High is your expert guide.
He wins.

June 2, 2014 possible, yes

Mornin’ Sunshine!
We struggle to believe the vision God has for us. The truth is that He will use anyone who is willing to trust him.
That’s why He was able to use Moses, the murderer, to lead His people out of slavery;
That’s why He could use Samson, the womanizer, to become one of the greatest judges in history;
that’s why He could use Jacob, the liar and deceiver, so that when Jews, refer to God, they still refer to the “God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob”;
that’s why, firmly stenciled into the history of Christianity, Simon Peter, the liar, the denier, the betrayer of Jesus delivered the message of Christ on the day of Pentecost;
that’s why Saul, who killed Christians, because it was his mandate in life, had an encounter with Jesus on a road and was changed and became the one that wrote half of the New Testament.
Are you prepared for God’s extraordinary vision to cross your ordinary, humbug hours? Because let me tell you DearHeart, to let go of doubt and step full-in with laserbeam trust is hard. But, it is worth everything. With eternity on the line, raise your chin, set your shoulders, and trust. Go.

‘Jesus looked at them intently and said, “Humanly speaking, it is impossible. But with God everything is possible.” (Matthew 19:26 NLT)
