‘When the wine ran out, Jesus’ mother told Him, “They don’t have any wine.” (John 2:3 HCSB)
Hello ChosenOne-
I wonder if Mary and Jesus had heart-to-heart talks about the journey of his birth? The angel, Bethlehem, the stable, visits from Magi.
Would she have asked Him if He knew about His deity? About His purpose? His mission? His destiny?
His first miracle was turning water into wine. Like mom’s command “dinner is ready” what it really means “wash up and let’s eat”. When Mary said the words, “they have no more wine” those were the words that set off Jesus’ entire ministry.
Moms just know things. It was time. The elephant in the room for 30 years was about to be exposed. Think about it, DearHeart, If this moment slipped by, when would the next one come?
“There’s no more wine.”
Now, JC, the ball is in your court. It wasn’t about the wine. The next move was His.
Both He and His mom knew. It was time to get uncomfortable. It was her son’s defining moment.
He knew, deep in His heart and soul He had to take that first step. No matter how small. It was time.
I don’t think Jesus was annoyed with his mom. I think way down deep, He was relieved that she called Him out.
Someone close to you needs a nudge – needs to be called out. Someone needs your nod – your affirming glance. Because, if not now, when?
My time has come.
What about you?
