‘But Joshua had commanded the people: “Do not shout or let your voice be heard. Don’t let one word come out of your mouth until the time I say, ‘Shout! ’ Then you are to shout.” Joshua 6:10
DearOne, why would Joshua do that? Telling the Israelites to zip their lips?
Here’s my thought- it is rooted in something my momma used to say to my brothers and me all the time “if you can’t say something nice, then don’t say anything at all!”
Here’s the deal, Sweets … God knows that some of us will talk ourselves out of a blessing that He has already delivered!
You’ll talk your way right out of a promise He has ready to hand over. God knows that the promise that He has given you is dependent on your faith and your ability to grasp it and some of us will back our faith off so much that we reduce God to the size of our biggest problem.
He is a
whole
lot
BIGGER
than that.
We MUST learn to pray big prayers.
Be still, Beloved, and know that He is God.
So, those Israelites marched all around
and around,
and around,
and at first they were thinking ‘this feels weird, and it feels strange’, and the second day the stride gets longer and stronger with faith and there is increase in the march and in the confidence and then like them, we become ready.
By the time God’s Chosen gets to the end they have been marching silently just pacing circles around their promise and at the end of the 7th day,
they scream,
600,000 screamed their heads off, it would’ve registered on the Richter scale, and, you know this story … the walls came tumbling down.
You may be praying a little too small.
Your Father has already set your blessing up for delivery.
Ask for it.
Expect it.
