‘… but the Lord was not in the wind. After the wind there was an earthquake, but the Lord was not in the earthquake. After the earthquake there was a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire. And after the fire there was a voice, a soft whisper.’ 1 Kings 19:11, 12
Good morning, ChosenOne!
We’ve had a ruckus. Not an ordinary day, or weekend, or year.
Ruckus days have purpose – heartbreak,
fires,
noise,
betrayal,
poundings,
earthquakes,
home-quakes,
school-quakes,
wind: they try, often they succeed, in taking us down til there is not one bloody scrap left in us.
Then, when we get to the other side of the noise, we learn to take pride in the survival of the storm. The blood spilled in the process was for a single purpose: to quietly behold, so clearly, the voice of our Creator-
One-on-one.
Undeniable.
Quiet.
Somber.
And, from that one quietly, protected place after the storm – well, that’s where one seed begins to grow into many seeds.
Wake up.
Ruckus.
Listen.
Grow.
Go to bed.

I love you Angie Lewis! You were the stranger who was there for me during the second worst storm of my life about 21 years ago today! God led us to Square Top America for a short time because he knew I needed a friend like you to get me through it . Thank you for your love and friendship!
