Hello WildHeart!
So…have you ever known another that has lost their way? In searching for their legs again, they still seem to know how to keep moving, yet they act as if they have no sense. They know “things” – they are just messed up in the head on how to make “things” work together for their own good. Like a mother raccoon teaching her babies how to catch fish – they already know how to catch fish, they are born with that. She must teach them of the dangers that may be lurking. She must teach them to have a wary eye before they get in over their masked eyes. She shows them how to access their tools and how to sharpen their instincts. It is a trial and error process.
Many errors.
Many, many errors.
But,there is hope. And as long as there is hope, she keeps teaching and they keep sharpening.
They may look like a mess In the process. They scrabble around,
sniff the dirt,
get distracted,
chase a bug,
scratch the ground,
paw in the water.
They snap at the air, and twist their ears all around like trying to find a secret transmission from space. Sometimes, they freeze stone-cold, for what seems like an eternity.
That is so us, isn’t it?
Once they learn the signs- the clues come together and they finally know what to do next.
The Holy Spirit handles our wild-hearts in much the same way. Even the ones who have not yet invited Him in, still seek Him out and long for Him. And, He nudges, and motivates. No matter where the heart moves, each one yearns for Him and His acceptance, His wisdom, His lead. And, for each one that looks for Him, we find Him. It’s not as hard as one might imagine … for He is pursuing us too. We are His young.
