‘The One who examines the thoughts and emotions is a righteous God. My shield is with God, who saves the upright in heart.’ (Psalms 7:9, 10 HCSB)
Hello Child of God Most High-
Praying this morning. More specifically, I am praying for you this morning.
You know Sweetheart, most people think praying has to be a polished art form – pretty words said in a clever fashion. Really, prayer is just laying “it” all out there for Father God to hash through. He wants honesty, not beautiful poetic words. You are so right, He does know already DearOne, but He wants us to simply lay it all out there at the very elementary level –
I’m hurting,
my friend needs a miracle,
how do I breathe through this,
my feelings are hurt,
my enemies want to destroy me,
thank you for the beauty,
my teacher/coach/boss eats worms for breakfast – then spits them at me during the day,
why did you let this happen to him,
my life is in danger,
I might explode,
how can I reach him,
Ive messed this up,
I’m sorry,
my pillow is soaked with years,
I want to love You more … and on and on.
Raw. Earthly. Prayers of honesty from the core of our thoughts: that’s getting to the heart of relationship with Father God.
Wake up.
Lay it all out there.
Go to bed.
