‘He summoned the Twelve and began to send them out in pairs and gave them authority over unclean spirits.
He instructed them to take nothing for the road except a walking stick: no bread, no traveling bag, no money in their belts.
They were to wear sandals, but not put on an extra shirt.’ (Mark 6:7-9 HCSB)
I wonder what kind of thoughts were going through the minds of the twelve at this moment? They were common people. Like you and me. And, you and I both know the enemy was stirring every doubt and fear they had ever known.
Something this time – this was different …
standing there … at that edge with nothing but the Son of the God of the Universe.
There are certain types of experiences that, as you approach them, you know that they will change you. Think back to one of yours – one where, as you stood, you knew . . . as though you sensed that this would be one of those life experiences that would transform. You would be changed.
Beloved, your next edge is very close. Be prepared to leap when the only sure thing you know to be true is pure faith.
There is a heart-change coming for you.
You need this.
Father God needs this out of you.
You will be safe there.
You will see.
