‘You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You.’ (Isaiah 26:3 ESV)
It is impossible to help one find peace when they prefer the life of a tortured mind. That work is between them and God Most High.
We think we have to go down that road to “fix” them. Peace becomes the memory of your days from long, long ago. Beloved, sometimes you and I are called to step away – to let that loved one fight their own battle. Their emptiness creates a desperation. And, in desperation they finally allow the healing light of Father God to shine ever more deeply upon them.
We want to jump in and save them from themselves, but instead, are called to a support role. Every once on a while, support means to back off and give God space to do His work in them.
Those are times we think we are on one road, knowing the way, and suddenly find God Most High has picked us up, road and all, and set us down in an unknown foreign country. The only way out is to stay your mind on Him.
Peace,
Angie
