Advent/tree gear: a lifesaver candy
‘Concerning this salvation, the prophets who prophesied about the grace that would come to you searched and carefully investigated. It was revealed to them that they were not serving themselves but you. These things have now been announced to you through those who preached the gospel to you by the Holy Spirit sent from heaven. Angels desire to look into these things.’ (1 Peter 1:10, 12 HCSB)
Sweetheart, I love the gospel. It is all about you. And me. It is heaven’s direct gift. So stupendous is this gift that even the eternal, immortal angel beings desire and long for a ‘look into these things’.
Every time we look into it, we discover the mystery that there is no end to exploring it! Every single time we look there, His Word reveals more of
His ability to change a broken world,
A broken community,
A broken heart.
I had to read verse 12 over and over again. . . ‘Angels desire to look into these things.’ The very beings who are fixated on and consumed by God Most High are curious about the mystery of the gospel! They long to look into it – to understand it- to make sense of the mystery of His grace. They stay curious about the events that happened on planet earth that gives purpose and hope to earthlings.
This gospel, saves hearts. It saves lives because it bleeds changes into us that we gather only by grace, through faith.
The simplicity of the gospel. . . it cries out to us all that there is hope.
