The season is about Jesus and you.
Jesus and you.
Today’s Advent symbol: a seed/acorn/ beginning
‘In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was formless and empty, and darkness covered the deep waters. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the surface of the waters.’ (Genesis 1:1, 2 NLT)
And so, your story began. . . all this time, you thought your life started the day your were born. But sweetheart, hear me now, when The Creator set the stars in place, YOU were fixed in His mind. He created order out of chaos. And, your plan was set.
This day we mark the first day of our advent season. Be alert and ready to gorge yourself on the fresh experience of this celebration of your life in Christ. Place yourself on the journey with Joseph and Mary. Stand with the lambs in the stable. Peer into the manger at the King with fresh eyes. Be ready. No matter how plain your life seems. Claim expectation. And, away we go…!
*If you are unable to be with our Sunday School class this morn, make your own little branch tree and hang on it an acorn or seed or picture of one to represent ‘fresh beginnings’ of this first day of the Advent season. Each day til Christmas we will add another symbol of our heritage.
