Standard

Standing on the edge of Goose Lake in the New Mexico mountains a few years ago, traces of snow around us, I asked Dale, “how could anyone NOT believe in God?”
We were mesmerized by the stillness. In awe of the majesty around us. Wondering what kind of mood Father God was in when He unleashed His creativity in that place.
I am sitting here with goosebumps running from head to toe at the memory!
We all need it. A healing touch of nature. Jesus needed it-He went off to remote places over and over while he was an earthling.
The medicines of nature are powerful and simple and straightforward and very often the most healing. Sometimes we never know how the movement of a spider in its web can chip away the ice holding one’s heart hostage …
a turtle moseying through a pasture …
a purple martin gliding on the breeze …
a ladybug on a green bean in the garden …
a shooting star …
capturing mistletoe from a treetop …
The slightest gift from Father God’s nature world is often received as a nod of continuance. We don’t have to understand it, we simply press on because of it…. the heart is allowed to be touched by the creature, it is a strange thing, it puts out tremendous energy … and, we find we can be sustained for weeks on a single minute of pondering a quiet pond.

‘For ever since the world was created, people have seen the earth and sky. Through everything God made, they can clearly see his invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature. So they have no excuse for not knowing God.’ (Romans 1:20 NLT)
