Standard

“I’m telling you these things while I’m still living with you. The Friend, the Holy Spirit whom the Father will send at my request, will make everything plain to you. He will remind you of all the things I have told you. I’m leaving you well and whole. That’s my parting gift to you. Peace. I don’t leave you the way you’re used to being left—feeling abandoned, bereft. So don’t be upset. Don’t be distraught.” (John 14:25 MSG)

New seasons are gushing in for everyone I know. I am not kidding. I cannot think of a single person who’s life is not in some kind of transition. Maybe it is just an August thing. Maybe it is from adjusting from heatstroke to the sound of thunder. All I know is that it is time for every spiritual soul (you and me) to attire ourselves for the travel. This is the day to feed your soul. Tend to hushed fires. Worship Father God. Work as one being guided.
Because you are Beloved.
You will not take action today. You will BE action. Ring the bell from the very core of your being. Throw yourself into one of your deep callings – let it free you – let it be your expression.
Let me tell you it takes mighty discipline to become aware of what you are called toward as though it matters. It takes devotion to listen, even when the fears are howling your name, pelting you with scraps of desperation, and everyone passes you by-hustling towards the end result. It’s not easy to want a different result, to want the result of peace and eternity, freedom and security. You want the whole package. That means you will have to serve the ways of your Holy Spirit. It’s more challenging in the beginning, more fruitful in the end.
Don’t fall into unfit habit. Don’t walk the grooves that are easy to walk because they validate you for working so hard. It’s easier to work hard than to trust the soul’s strange new counsel. Can you let go of control and humdrum validation and embrace quiet promise? This is the quest. The path of peace is not an easy path. It stems from deepening trust. And it will change your pulse, your angle, and how you see yourself. The joys you know will be different, and cannot be taken away.
Here’s a visual that might work for you– as it does for me. “Who would attempt to fly with the tiny wings of a sparrow when the mighty power of an eagle has been given him?”
Precious, soul-friend— you want to fly.

Blessed with the crazy notion, the wild-eyed foolishness, and the madcap belief in the simple idea that I might help one to make a decision that makes a difference in the world . . . as stated by Ralph Waldo Emerson’s famous quote…“To know one life breathed easier because you lived, this is to have succeeded.” I get to use my small business background as a former owner of a Flower Shop and Hallmark Store and former co-owner of Disability Specialists, LLC, to help folks build dreams. I hold a M.Ed with emphasis on Adult Training and Education. I’d love to get my Doctorate in Educational Leadership . . . someday.
