“Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven” (Matthew 5:11, 12 NIV)
My friend, how you and I mature as a Christian largely depends on the attitude we have when we are faced with suffering. Some fly off the handle at the slightest wrinkle in their plans. Some try to avoid pain or imagine it doesn’t exist. That only makes matters worse.
Some try to endure it, grimly, hoping for relief – a better response maybe – but it falls short of the full victory God has for us. We need deep understanding that when we are walking through painful times – it is an act of God’s blessing to us. Sounds weird – impossible – but, ‘do-able’ is attainable with God’s help. When you walk through a painful experience – embrace it. It is an instrument to bring you in tight – to make you more like Jesus. The people who really suffer are those who never experience God’s presence. Think about it DearOne.
