‘Husbands, go all out in your love for your wives, exactly as Christ did for the church—a love marked by giving, not getting. Christ’s love makes the church whole. His words evoke her beauty. Everything he does and says is designed to bring the best out of her, dressing her in dazzling white silk, radiant with holiness. And that is how husbands ought to love their wives. They’re really doing themselves a favor—since they’re already “one” in marriage’.(Ephesians 5:25 MSG)
I LOVE weddings and marriages! And, today is my little cousin’s special day. Exciting day! Special day! And Dearhearts:
Suddenly going from a “me” world to a you and me “us” world is a JY-NOR-MUS shock to the only way you have ever known how to think and act since birth. But, that “one” thinking is exactly the full-blown requirement. The seal, the glue, the bond that is required to mesh two selfish souls together is God.
Nothing else comes close and in the history of all marriages, everywhere, every substitute that has tried to replace His Holy Weave of two souls has failed.
Beloved, this comes from my mother, and from her mother before that, never ever date someone that you don’t think would be marriage material. The heart can be very deceitful – so you must make every move (every flirt) with careful prayer. Marriage can be a spectacular part of your life, but it has to have a top priority. When your day comes and that meshed (sometimes scrambled – like eggs) life begins with a new “us”, ask every single morning: “Father God, what can I do today to make my marriage better?”
TTFN, I’m off to a wedding!
